Harmony Senior Services Names Chief Operations, Sales and Marketing Officers

Harmony Senior Services has named Steve Martin as its new chief operations officer, and Margaret Cabell as its new sales and marketing officer. Both will help aid the company as it expands in the Mid-Atlantic and Southeast.

As chief operations officer, Martin will be a “key architect” in the company’s growth. He previously spent 19 years as senior vice president of regional operations with Brookdale Senior Living.

Cabell, a 15-year senior living industry veteran, also previously worked at Brookdale, where she was a divisional vice president of sales and marketing. With Harmony, she will aid the company as it strives to attract top talent and exceed its revenue targets.

Avamere Bolsters HR Team; Hires Ovation GMs

Avamere is growing its workforce, both by expanding its HR team and hiring leaders for its new Ovation brand.

The company recently named three people to its human resources department:

  • Nicole Carey is now the director of HR for Avamere Living and Signature Healthcare at Home
  • Teena Tarabochia is now regional HR Manager for Avamere
  • Lisa Marie May is now head of talent acquisition for Avamere

Also, in December, the company announced it had hired Tim Norman as general manager of Ovation Sienna Hills in Southern Utah; and Stephanie Grade as general manager of Ovation Heartwood Preserve in Omaha, Nebraska.

Both have extensive hospitality backgrounds. Norman, who has about three decades of restaurants and hotel experience, most recently worked at the Westin La Paloma Resort & Spa in Arizona. Grade, meanwhile, has 20 years of experience.

Strategic Student & Senior Housing Trust Names CFO

Strategic Student & Senior Housing Trust, a public, non-traded real estate investment trust (REIT) sponsored by SmartStop Asset Management has promoted Michael Crear to the role of CFO.

In his new role, Crear will help implement accounting and financial management policies. He will also handle the REIT’s SEC and regulatory reporting.

He previously worked as vice president and controller for SmartStop Asset Management, and he will continue to work as vice president of accounting for the REIT.

Watermark Hires for New Public Relations Manager Role

Watermark Retirement Communities has named Vicki Doyle to the newly-created position of public relations manager.

In the new role, Doyle will help “tell the inspiring stories” of how the company affects the lives of its residents and their loved ones. Doyle most recently worked as markets manager for Destination Travel Network.

Oklahoma Life Plan Community Names New CEO

Montereau, a life plan community in Tulsa, Oklahoma, has named Angela Larson as its new president and CEO. Larson is replacing David Murlette, who left to take a leadership position with Mather.

Larson previously worked as Montereau’s CFO for more than seven years. Before she joined Montereau in 2013, Larson worked for investment bank Ziegler.

Lutheran Home and Harwood Place Name CEO

Lutheran Home and Harwood Place, a senior living provider with two campuses near Milwaukee, named Kathy Cavers as its new president and CEO.

Cavers is replacing Scott McFadden, who is exiting his role as the President and CEO. Cavers previously was the administrator COO of the Lutheran Home for the previous eight years.

Integral Names Memory Care Memory Care, Executive Directors

Integral Senior Living has named a memory care director for a community in Seattle and named an executive director for a community in Tennessee.

Queen Anne Manor, the Integral community in Seattle, appointed Qween Gipson as the director for its Generations memory care program.

Gipson is a certified dementia care specialist, health unit coordinator and home health aide with more than 25 years of experience working in the field of aging. She first joined Queen Anne last year, but before that she worked as a a youth and pre-teen programmer and kindergarten teacher in Europe.

In Knoxville, Tennesee, another Integral community — Raintree Terrace Senior Living — promoted senior director of sales and marketing Leah Dailey to executive director.

In her new role, Dailey will manage the community’s operations in addition to supervising and hiring all department leads and staff.

Pegasus Names Executive Director for Texas Community

Matt Ritter is now the executive director of the assisted living and memory care community at Parmer Woods at North Austin, a Pegasus Senior Living community in Austin, Texas.

Ritter has worked with Pegasus Senior Living since last September 2019, and he has more than a decade of senior living industry experience.

Pennrose Adds VP of Asset Management

Multifamily development and management firm Pennrose has named Michelle Militello as its vice president of asset management.

In her new role, Militello is responsible for analyzing, measuring, and reporting on financial and operating metrics and helping to improve outcomes.
