LCS Hires Development and Real Estate Business Leader

LCS has Charles Murphy as executive vice president and senior managing director of development and real estate.

Murphy, who joins LCS in mid-February, is responsible for strategy and performance oversight of the LCS Development and LCS Real Estate companies.

He has previously worked in leadership roles at The Walt Disney Company, Security Capital Group, GE Capital, and Hammes Company, where he made decisions regarding development, acquisition, finance, and asset management.

Oakmont Hires Vice President of Health Services

Oakmont Senior Living has named Mandy Curtis as its vice president of health services.

In her new role, Curtis is tasked with maintaining Oakmont’s quality of care for residents, and in the process give nurses the tools and training necessary to help drive positive health care outcomes.

Before joining Oakmont, Curtis worked as corporate director of health services for Seasons Living.

Capitol Seniors Housing Names Principal of Operations

Capitol Seniors Housing has named Edie Empirio to the newly created role of principal of operations.

Empirio has more than two decades of senior living experience. She previously worked as senior vice president of operations for Chelsea Senior Living, where she was responsible for the oversight and support of all 21 of the company’s communities.

American House Names VP of Quality and Clinical Operations

American House Senior Living Communities has hired Schekesia Meadough to the role of vice president of quality and clinical operations.

Meadough is responsible for the creation and implementation of nursing care and wellness strategies, policies, processes and programs across American House’s portfolio of more than 60 communities in five states.

Meadough previously worked as the vice president of health and wellness at LaSalle Group. Her career has included leadership and nursing roles over the past two decades.

Pathway to Living Hires VP of Culture, Other Leaders

Pathway to Living has hired Mike Ulm as its vice president of culture and brand loyalty.

Ulm will be responsible for evolving Pathway’s VIVA! philosophy and culture. He will work to uphold the company’s standards through support, coaching and ongoing training of team members.

Ulm has more than 30 years of senior housing experience. He previously ran an independent consultancy that worked with Pathway to Living.

The company also made two other personnel announcements:

  • Pathway promoted Sue Schaefer, executive director of Azpira Place of Lake Zurich in Lake Zurich, Illinois, to regional director of operations.
  • Pathway also promoted Carissa Mok to the title of executive director of Azpira Place of Lake Zurich.

Retirement Unlimited Announces Executive Promotions

Senior housing provider Retirement Unlimited has promoted three to new roles on its executive team.

The company promoted Brian Grahame to the role of executive vice president of clinical services for its management company. In his new role role, Grahame will oversee clinical operations and compliance as well as the implementation of certain tactical efforts.

Retirement Unlimited also promoted Mohamed Tarawneh to the role of vice president of culinary experience and operations. In this capacity, Tarawneh will oversee the fine-dining experience of residents in all 10 of the company’s communities in Virginia.

Additionally, Steve Winter is now vice president of plant operations for Retirement Unlimited. He is tasked with ensuring quality in the company’s physical plant and environmental services, as well as working on new development and renovation initiatives.

Kendal Community in Pennsylvania Names New CEO

Lisa Marsilio is the new incoming CEO of Kendal-Crosslands Communities, a Kendal life plan community in Kennett Square, Pennsylvania.

Marsilio previously worked as COO of Caron Treatment Centers, a not-for-profit provider of addiction and behavioral health care. She succeeds Phil DeBaun, who left Kendal-Crosslands to become CEO at Foulkeways at Gwyneed, a life care community in suburban Philadelphia.

Integral Community Welcomes New Executive Director

Las Villas del Norte, an Integral Senior Living community in Escondido, California, has named Jolene Farish as its executive director.

In her new role, Farish will manage the community’s day-to-day operations, provide oversight and supervise and oversee the hiring of all department leads and staff.

Erickson Living Community Names General Services Director

Michael Lloyd is now the director of general services at Seabrook, an Erickson Living community in Tinton Falls, New Jersey.

In his new role, Lloyd will help lead Seabrook’s facilities, maintenance and housekeeping, security, communications, grounds, custom interiors, and transportation workers. He will also aid Erickson Living with re-occupancy and development projects in the community.
