Discovery Expands Operations Team

Discovery Senior Living has grown its operations team with the hiring of Nicole Gasaway as regional vice president of operations and Erin Miller as regional vice president and portfolio manager.

Before joining Discovery Senior Living, Gasaway worked as vice president of operations for Validus Senior Living. She has more than 20 years of industry experience overall. Miller, meanwhile, formerly worked as vice president of sales for Vi.

The operational changes are aimed at streamlining the company, helping it grow and focusing on the development and launch of the company’s new “Experiential Living” concept.

Cadence Living Hires Regional Sales Director, VP of Operations

Cadence Living has named a new regional sales director and appointed a new vice president of operations.

Dakota Seven will work as regional sales director for the company’s west region. In her new role, Seven will work with vice president of operations Treva Whalen to support the company’s six California communities.

She previously worked as a regional sales specialist at Oakmont Management Group.

Heather Thomas has also joined Cadence Living as its vice president of operations for North Carolina. Thomas has nearly two decades of senior housing and assisted living administration experience.

Prior to coming aboard with Cadence, she spent time with many other companies in the senior living industry, such as Senior Lifestyle Corporation, Stonecrest Senior Living and PointClickCare.

United Church Homes Names Chief Growth Officer

United Church Homes, a large nonprofit specializing in senior housing and affordable housing for older adults, has announced that Teresa “Terry” Spitznagel is set to join the organization on Feb. 10 as chief growth officer.

The newly created position replaces the COO role. In her new capacity, Spitznagel will oversee all of the organization’s senior living and affordable housing operations while helping to grow existing and new lines of business.

Spitznagel has over 25 years of experience in senior living, hospital, post-acute care, hospice, affordable housing and home and community-based services operations. She previously worked as the senior vice president of senior living for National Church Residences.

Belmont Village Appoints Executive Director for Florida Community

Belmont Village has named an executive director for a forthcoming senior living community in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.

The company chose Rene Buck to work as the executive director of Belmont Village Fort Lauderdale, a community that is scheduled to open in the first quarter of 2020.

Buck is tasked with overseeing operations and care for the 204-apartment high-rise community. He previously worked as the executive director of Grand Villa Delray West and as a regional supervisor for the Allegro Management Company.

Senior Star Community Names Assistant Executive Director

The Kenwood by Senior Star in Cincinnati has welcomed Scott Gibson as its assistant executive director and director of health services.

In both roles, Gibson will work Executive Director Steve Slayton to manage the community’s day-to-day operations and lead its health services. He will also be tasked with rolling out and managing the community’s new memory care program, which will initially serve 14 residents.

Before coming aboard at The Kenwood, Gibson worked as an executive director for two Life Care Services communities in Bloomington, Indiana and Loveland, Ohio.

New Perspective Hires Leader for Wisconsin Community

New Perspective Senior Living hired Jason Wilson as its new executive director for New Perspective Franklin, a senior living community in Franklin, Wisconsin, that is slated to open in the spring of 2020.

In his new role, Wilson is set to oversee all of the community’s operations, staff supervision, outreach and partnering with area organizations.

Wilson, who joined New Perspective in November, previously was the director of operations at the Luther Manor senior living community in Wauwatosa, Wisconsin.

Maplewood Welcomes Executive Director for Ohio Community

Maplewood Senior Living’s Maplewood at Cuyahoga Falls community in Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio, recently welcomed George Dubic as the community’s new executive director.

Dubic has 17 years of experience related to caring for older adults in nursing homes. In his new role, he will look after planning, development, implementation, evaluation and improvement of program services, management of staff, and quality of care.

OnShift Adds Two Leaders

OnShift has added Addison Grimes as senior vice president of engineering and Jim Alland as chief sales officer.

Grimes has almost three decades of experience in technology leadership positions. He most recently worked as the as chief technology office at ScheduleSoft Corporation.

Alland, meanwhile, has more thab 35 years of leadership experience. Prior to joining OnShift, he worked as a senior vice president and general manager at Allscripts.

Taylor Design Names New President

Taylor Design has named Kevin Hinrichs as its new president. D. Randy Regier, who worked as president for the prior 16 years, is now chairman of the board.

As president, Hinrichs will help lead the company’s operations and infrastructure, which spans financial planning, business activities, organizational performance, and daily operations. Hinrichs first joined Taylor Design in 2013. He has has two decades of experience in architecture and design.
