Sonata Plans $52 Million Community in Florida

Sonata Senior Living has plans to develop a new $52 million senior living community in Lake Mary, Florida.

The community, dubbed Sonata Lake Mary, will have 193 independent living, assisted living and memory care apartments. Resident will have access to multiple dining venues, a juice bar, fitness center and spa, bocce ball court, putting green, theater, pool, dog park and simulated golf center.

Sonata expects to break ground on the community in early 2020, with a tentative opening date in 2021.

Inspired Senior Living Working on Community Near Kansas City

Urbane Healthcare, an Inspired Senior Living management company, is set to open a new 1920s-inspired community in the Kansas City suburb of Gladstone, Missouri.

The Grand Royale is the name of Urbane’s new $13 million, 105-unit community. The community’s independent living wing is set to open in November, with other areas slated to open by the end of the year.

The community’s residents can choose from three different “memberships,” which range in cost from $3,000 to $10,000 for month.

The community will have a spoke and wheel design centered around a piazza with fountains, shops, cafes, multiple restaurants, a theater, speakeasy, barbershop, salon and a children’s play area. The overall design is inspired by the 1920s, with clean lines, geometric forms and textures that evoke the era.

Resort Lifestyle Communities to Break Ground in Connecticut

Resort Lifestyle Communities is set to hold a groundbreaking on Sept. 19 for a new senior living community in Trumbull, Connecticut.

The $30 million, 180,000 square foot community will come with amenities such as an in-house bank, pharmacy, gift shop, and salon — all of which will also be open to members of the public.

Construction Underway for New Silverstone Community Near D.C.

Silverstone Senior Living recently started work on a $76 million senior community near Washington, D.C. in Rockville, Maryland.

The 146-unit assisted living and memory care community, The Seneca of Rockville, will have a wellness and fitness center, art studio and multiple dining venues.

This represents the third community Silverstone is developing in the D.C. area, with others coming together in nearby Alexandria and Fairfax, Virginia.

New Phase Underway at Sagewood Community in Arizona

Sagewood, a Life Care Services-managed community in Phoenix, is undergoing an expansion project that will add 101 independent living apartment homes and other spaces to the community.

The $100 million second phase will include one- and two-bedroom apartment homes, an 18-hole golf putting course, new and expanded dining venues, card rooms and new administrative offices.

All of the new residences will have patios or balconies and range from approximately ­­870 to 2,350 square feet. Residents can move in after a one-time entrance fee of $440,000.

Architect Todd & Associates designed the second phase, with construction from The Weitz Company. If all goes according to plan, the new expansion will open in 2020.

Eaton Completes Renovation in Colorado

Eaton Senior Communities, along with Pinkard Construction and EJ Architecture, have renovated a vacant six-story tower that is a part of a larger Eaton community campus in Lakewood, Colorado.

The project consolidated 74 smaller assisted living units into 64 larger independent living units.The renovation work also included structural retrofits and unit renovations including plumbing stack additions and rerouting, electrical redistribution, wall relocations, and unit build-outs.

Pennsylvania Community Now Open to Residents

Providence Place has opened a new location in Collegeville, Pennsylvania.

The pet-friendly community exists in a site that once held the Collegeville Inn, a historic former hotel which decades ago may have hosted some of the residents who live there today.
