Heritage Senior Living Hires VP of Operations

Heritage Senior Living hired Tammy Schafer to work as the company’s new vice president of operations.

Schafer will oversee the senior living provider’s 16 independent living, assisted living and memory care communities in Wisconsin.

Asbury Names VP of Master Planning

Todd Andrews has joined Asbury Communities as the organization’s vice president of master planning.

Andrews most recently worked with Sodexo Senior Living as a regional vice president as part of his 26-year career with the dining and facilities management company. He’s also the one who originally helped Asbury test the applications and benefits of the humanoid robot Pepper at its communities.

LifeSpace Appoints Regional Directors

Lifespace Communities has named Susan Bowser as its new regional director of sales and marketing and Rob Clark as its tegional director of operations.

Bowser will oversee sales initiatives, while Clark will is tasked with looking after strategic planning and operations for the organization’s Texas communities.

Bowser has more than 18 years of senior living sales and marketing experience, and previously worked as a regional sales manager for HumanGood. Clark, meanwhile, has almost 20 years of health care operations and investment experience and worked as vice president of asset management at Cascade Capital Group before joining LifeSpace.

SRG Welcomes Director of Assisted Living at Florida Community

Senior Resource Group (SRG) recently appointed Pamela Buckley as director of assisted living for its The Carlisle community in Naples, Florida.

The role will task Buckley with administering and directing policies and procedures for the community’s assisted living services and leading a team of more than 50 employees.

Buckley previously worked as a case manager for home health care companies throughout the state. She has also worked in different roles for assisted living communities that include Beach House and The Arlington of Naples.

Maplewood Names Executive Director for Connecticut Community

Maplewood Senior Living has promoted Lauren Stowell to the role of executive director of Maplewood at Danbury, a senior living community in Danbury, Connecticut.

Stowell is responsible for overseeing day-to-day operations and leading planning and development of new programs. Before joining Maplewood at Danbury, Stowell was the community relations director at Maplewood at Newtown.

Watermark Appoints Leaders at California Community

Watermark Retirement Communities has named Heidi Charette as executive director and Karen Orlando as membership director of The Watermark at Napa Valley, a community scheduled to open next year in Napa, California.

In her new role, Charette will oversee the 173-unit senior living community. She previously worked as executive director for Solstice Senior Living, ans has two decades of senior living managerial experience.

Orlando, meanwhile, has worked as a marketing, sales and communications director with Oakmont Senior Living and Varenna at Fountaingrove.

California Life Plan Community Names Executive Chef

The Glen at Scripps Ranch, a life plan community slated to open later this year in San Diego, has named David Burke as its executive chef.

In his new role, Burke will oversee kitchen operations, which includes quality control, purchasing, food preparation, scheduling, catering and training of the culinary staff. He’ll also manage menu development and weekly specials.

Burke previously was the executive chef for national steakhouse chain STK in San Diego.

Florida Life Plan Community Appoints New Manager

Michelle Grunsted has joined Fort Myers, Florida-based life plan community Cypress Cove as assisted living manager.

Grunsted in her new role will oversee staffing, scheduling, programming and employee training at the community’s The Inn and at The Cottage areas.

Presbyterian Homes of Georgia Launches CEO Search

Presbyterian Homes of Georgia is looking for a new leader.

The organization’s president and CEO, Dr. Frank McElroy, announced his retirement, according a recent report from the Valdosta Daily Times. He will step down from his post in January.
