The Springs Living Appoints Chief People Officer

The Springs Living has promoted Lisa Maynard to the role of chief people officer.

Maynard is tasked in her new role with developing human resource strategies regarding recruiting, training, developing and retaining workers.

She first joined The Springs Living in 2002, and has numerous management roles with the company since. Most recently, Maynard worked as director of people and processes, where she oversaw the implemented the company’s training and development program.

Watercrest Names Regional Director of Operations, Executive Director

Watercrest Senior Living has promoted one of its executive directors to a regional director role and hired another executive director.

The company recently promoted executive director Kristen Dalrick to the role of regional director of operations and named Dawn Osterweil as executive director of Watercrest Naples Assisted Living and Memory Care in Naples, Florida.

Dalrick is tasked with aiding Watercrest as it embarks on a plan to open a dozen new communities in the coming years. She previously worked as executive director of the company’s Market Street Memory Care Residence East Lake community in Tarpon Springs, Florida.

In her new role, Osterweil will lead Watercrest Naples, a 128-unit that is currently under construction and is expected to open to new residents this fall. Osterweil has more than two decades of experience in the senior living industry, including as an executive director, nursing home administrator, training specialist and operations manager.

Brookdale Board Director Won’t Stand for Reelection

The director of Brookdale Senior Living’s (NYSE: BKD) board of directors isn’t staying on for another term.

James Seward has decided not to stand for re-election at the company’s upcoming annual meeting of stockholders this year. He previously served as director for more than a decade.

“Jim’s sound judgment, dedication, vigilant oversight, and financial expertise have served Brookdale well during a period of rapid expansion and change in our company,” remarked Brookdale CEO Cindy Baier in a press release. “Most recently, as chair of the investment committee, Jim helped steer Brookdale onto a path of long-term shareholder value creation for years to come.”

Guest Services Senior Living Names Operations VP

Guest Services Senior Living has hired Shawn Rose as its vice president of operations.

Rose has nearly 20 years of experience in the industry, most recently as regional director of operations for Senior Lifestyle Corporation. He has also worked for Capital Senior Living (NYSE: CSU), the former Emeritus Senior Living and Brandywine Senior Living.

New Executive Director for Ventana by Buckner

Buckner Retirement Services has hired a new executive director for Ventana by Buckner, the organization’s planned $140 million continuing care retirement community (CCRC) in North Dallas.

The community’s previous executive director, Rick Pruett, unexpectedly passed away after suffering a heart attack on June 8.

Buckner named Charles “Chuck” Childress as executive director of the community, effective July 15. Childress is a 20-year veteran of the senior living industry who most recently worked as COO of MRC PineCrest.

Integral Names of Sales and Marketing Leaders in Tennessee

Two Integral Senior Living (ISL) communities are welcoming new sales and marketing leaders.

The Pointe at Lifespring Senior Living in Knoxville, Tennessee, hired Julie Sharp as its new director of sales and marketing. Sharp previously worked in property management and has about 20 years of experience in sales and marketing.

Raintree Terrace, another Integral community in Knoxville, is also welcoming Leah Dailey as its senior director of sales and marketing. Dailey previously worked as senior director of sales and marketing at The Pointe at Lifespring.

North Carolina Community Hires Dining Director

Trudi Nowlin is the new director of dining services at Grace Ridge, a senior living community owned and operated by Carolinas HealthCare System Blue Ridge in Morganton, North Carolina.

In the new role, Nowlin will help with daily operations and meal preparation.

Previously, Nowlin plied her trade at Wuesthoff Medical Center in Melbourne, Florida. She also managed culinary services for a 90-unit assisted living community that’s affiliated with the hospital.

Sun Health Names Chief Strategy Officer

Sun Health has promoted Jennifer Drago to the role of chief strategy officer.

Drago, who was previously executive vice president of population health, will now also aid strategic planning and help identify new business opportunities and programs.

Sun Health has three life plan Communities, a continuing care at home program and other health and wellness programs.

Plante Moran Living Forward Names Senior Vice President

Plante Moran Living Forward has promoted Eric Dumont to senior vice president.

Dumont previously worked for independent real estate consulting firm Plante Moran Cresa, where he worked with the senior living, health care, commercial, industrial, retail, municipal, and education construction industries.
