Senior Housing News and its parent publishing company, Aging Media Network, last week received multiple honors in a nationwide competition hosted by the Specialized Information Publishers Association of SIIA (SIPA).
Senior Housing News took home the following honors:
- First place in the Best Awards Program Marketing category for its Architecture & Design Awards
- Second place in the Best New Success Story category for its DISHED senior living dining event
- Second place in the Best Interview or Profile of Someone in Your Industry contest for a Q&A with Brookdale Senior Living (NYSE: BKD) CEO Lucinda “Cindy” Baier.
The interview with Baier took place shortly after she took the CEO reins at Brookdale, the largest senior living provider in the country, and was part of SHN’s Leadership Series.
Both the Architecture & Design Awards and DISHED take place annually. The 2019 Architecture & Design Awards will begin accepting applications July 1. The next DISHED event will take place in Chicago in March 2020.
Another Aging Media site, Skilled Nursing News, received third-place recognition in the Best Spot News or Single News Article — Health Care/Regulatory/Education category for reporter Maggie Flynn’s coverage of Senior Care Centers’ bankruptcy filing last December.
In addition to Senior Housing News and Skilled Nursing News, Chicago-based Aging Media Network publishes Home Health Care News and Reverse Mortgage Daily, and launched its newest vertical — Hospice News — this year.
“We were honored to place and win in several of SIPA’s awards categories this year,” Aging Media Network Co-Founder and President John Yedinak said. “After launching our fifth vertical in 2019, we appreciate the recognition among our industry peers for the work we are doing in our specialized coverage area of aging services.”
A division of the Software & Information Industry Association (SIIA), SIPA represents about 150 publishers of specialty content for niche communities, with more than 3,000 print and online publications among its members.
