Affinity Bolsters Management Team With Two New Hires
Affinity Living Group has named Rick Grimes as executive vice president and Mary Raddant as vice president of human resources.
The two will help lead the company’s growth strategy. Currently, Affinity has more than 100 communities spread across five states in the U.S. Southeast.
Grimes previously worked as the president and CEO of senior living trade organization Argentum, while Raddant was the senior director of human resources for David’s Bridal.
Leisure Care Fills New VP Role for East Coast Expansion
Leisure Care has named Michael Juno to serve as vice president of East Coast operations, a new role aimed at aiding its ongoing East Coast expansion.
In the new role, Juno will aid Leisure Care’s business team on market analyses, new acquisitions and bringing new communities on board. He previously worked an operations director with the company, a position that had him supporting general managers at six Leisure Care communities.
GlynnDevins Adds CFO, VP of Market Development
Senior living marketing firm GlynnDevins has named Scott Kokotan as its new CFO and Brad Fuqua as its vice president of market development.
Kokotan, who officially began his new role on March 25, is tasked with managing the company’s internal and external financial functions, including overseeing departments like finance and accounting, human resources, and facilities and operations. Another part of his new job is assessing the current financial infrastructure so that the firm can continue to grow.
Fuqua, meanwhile, will help grow GlynnDevins’ business in the assisted living and memory care space, particularly with for-profit companies.
Kokotan previously held CFO and executive leadership positions with companies including HH Ventures, a wireless telecom and technology firm. And before joining GlynnDevins, Fuqua worked as the senior vice president of market development at Eldermark Software.
Oakmont Names New Memory Care and Resident Programs VP
Oakmont Senior Living has hired Eric Portnoff as its new vice president of memory care and resident programs. The hiring goes into effect on April 1.
Oakmont will task Portnoff with overseeing the quality of the company’s memory care programs. He previously helped a Chinese assisted living company open some of the country’s first memory care communities.
Senior Living Communities Announces Two New Hires
Senior Living Communities has named Lauren Sanford as a lifestyle advisor in its home office and Ashley Parrish as the executive director of a forthcoming community in Charlotte, North Carolina.
Parrish has spent the last 13 years working in the health care industry, while Sanford has previous experience in the medical industry and working with geriatrics.
The Danish Home Welcomes Development Manager
The Danish Home Foundation has named Linda Steffensen as its new development manager.
In her new role, Steffensen will aid the organization in raising $10.5 million in a new capital campaign for an expansion and renovation at the Chicago continuing care retirement community (CCRC). If all goes according to plan, the fundraising effort will help add new dining rooms, a modern kitchen and a number of new residences. The campaign also aims to grow the organization’s fund set aside for residents who have exhausted their financial resources.
Lifespace Names Resident to Board
Lifespace Communities has elected a current independent living resident as a voting member of its board of directors.
New board member Bill Rich is a resident of The Waterford, a Lifespace community in Juno Beach, Florida. In his new capacity, he will help shape the future of the organization and provide insight from a resident’s perspective.
Rich spent most of his career at IBM, where he worked in a variety of roles that included corporate secretary, vice president and president of the company’s service sector group. He also served on the board of Covenant House for eight years.
California Community Names New CEO
Rhonda Bekkedahl is slated to become the new CEO of Channing House, a life plan community in Palo Alto, California. Bekkedahl is succeeding current CEO and executive director Mel Matsumoto, who is set to retire on April 30.
Bekkedahl joined Channing House as finance director in 2011 and became COO last year.
