Lutheran Senior Services promotes Anderson to president

St. Louis-based Lutheran Senior Services promoted Gary Anderson to president. He will be responsible for all Lutheran Senior Services business and clinical operations.

Anderson has been Lutheran Senior Services’ executive vice president and administration officer since 2017. Prior to that, he was vice president for clinical effectiveness and chief nursing officer.

John Kotovsky, currently Lutheran’s president and CEO, will remain as CEO.

Welltower names VP of operations; head of development

Toledo, Ohio-based health care real estate industrial trust (REIT) Welltower (NYSE: WELL) announced the hiring of Ryan Rothacker as vice president of operations, outpatient medical, and Nicholas Rumanes as head of development.

Rothacker joins Welltower from MBRE Healthcare, where he was senior vice president, asset management. He oversaw five joint venture funds with over $6 billion in market value. Before MBRE, he spent 15 years at Duke Realty where he held several positions including vice president, healthcare operations and vice president, asset management. Rothacker’s hiring reunites him with Keith Konkoli, head of Welltower’s outpatient medical practice.

Rumanes was most recently senior vice president, U.S. development for global retail real estate conglomerate Unibail-Rodamko-Westfield (“URW”). He was responsible for the development of Westfield’s U.S. portfolio, which included oversight of a $6 billion development pipeline. Prior to URW, he was senior vice president, real estate development design & construction at Oasis West Realty.

Rumanes will manage Welltower’s development efforts across the health care continuum, including senior housing, post-acute care, and outpatient medical projects. He reports to Shankh Mitra, executive vice president and chief investment officer.

Douglas Wilson Companies names new LA office head

Douglas Wilson Companies appointed Ryan Baker as senior managing director. He will be in charge of overseeing the firm’s new Los Angeles/Orange County office.

Baker has been appointed on or served as lead agent on more than 80 receiver, provisional director, trustee and partition referee matters in the past decade, including regulatory receivership assignments from the Securities and Exchange Commission, Department of Justice, and state courts.

Walker & Dunlop hires leading health care finance professional

Walker & Dunlop hired Joshua Rosen as managing director for its FHA finance group. He comes to the firm from Capital One Healthcare Finance, where he was a senior vice president and will be based in Chicago.

Rosen will be responsible for originating loans through the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) as well as various interim lending programs, with a focus on health care and senior housing finance. He has been involved in the origination of over $2 billion in HUD transactions in his career.
