Civitas Senior Living, LKP Ventures Announce Texas Project

Civitas Senior Living and real estate developer LKP Ventures are collaborating on a new assisted living and memory care community in Roanoke, Texas.

The 83-unit property, Harvest Senior Living, will come with an array of resort-style amenities, the companies announced. This is the first senior living project for LKP Ventures, which has 40 years of experience in the lodging sector of the hospitality industry.

Other project partners include Arrive Architects and interior design firm Senior By Design. If all goes according to plan, construction will begin in the spring of 2019.

Revera Announces Plans for Canadian Senior Housing Projects

SmartCentres Real Estate Investment Trust, the Penguin Group of Companies and Canadian senior living operator Revera have struck an agreement to develop and own senior living communities in Canada.

The agreement targets sites currently owned by SmartCentres, Penguin and Revera. SmartCentres or Penguin will act as the developer for the sites, and Revera will operate Revera-branded communities there. Project partners will co-own the communities under a 50/50 split.

SmartCentres and Revera also announced that they had executed site agreements to for three projects in the Toronto area. The projects will have 536 units of apartments for seniors and retirement residence and represent an investment of approximately $300 million.

Pending local approvals, those three projects are set to break ground in the spring of 2020.

Work Starts for Phoenix Senior Living Community in South Carolina

Construction crews are hard at work building a 43-apartment Phoenix Senior Living community in Camden, South Carolina.

Dubbed the Colonial at Historic Camden, the community will have amenities such as a bistro, salon, movie theater, multiple dining venues, fitness and physical therapy center and two interior courtyards.

Phoenix Senior Living expects to open the community later this year.

Belmont Village to Hold Opening for 13th California Community

Belmont Village is set to hold a grand opening on Feb. 9 and 10 for Belmont Village Aliso Viejo, an assisted living and memory care community in Aliso Viejo, California — its 13th property in the state.

The 149-unit community has amenities such as a fitness center with therapy services and a heated saltwater pool. It also offers brain fitness programs each day of the week.

Senior Living Communities Touts Completed Renovations at Two Properties

Senior Living Communities has put the finishing touches on renovation projects at communities in South Carolina and Florida.

The company renovated a clubhouse at its Brightwater Retirement community in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, with new decor and larger furniture. It also renovated a clubhouse, villa buildings, and care services common area with similar design touches at its Osprey Village community in Amelia Island, Florida. Osprey Village also expects to open an indoor pool to the community later this spring.
