NIC Announces Six Board of Directors Appointments

The National Investment Center for Seniors Housing & Care (NIC) has appointed six senior living executives to its board of directors.

The new board members are:

— Susan J. Barlow, co-founder and managing partner at Blue Moon Capital Partners
— David M. Boitano, senior investment officer at Ventas (Ventas (NYSE: VTR)
— Kai Hsiao, CEO of Eclipse Senior Living
— John P. Rijos, co-founder and operating partner of Chicago Pacific Founders
— Kenneth C. Segarnick, chief corporate officer of Brandywine Living
— Kendall K. Young, executive vice president of senior housing at HCP (NYSE: HCP)

The new board members replace Brad Razook, Tom Herzog, John Cobb, Ed Kenny, Judy Marczewski and Doug Korey.h

Atlas Senior Living Announces New CFO

Atlas Senior Living has hired Jennifer Speigner to serve as the company’s new CFO.

In her new role, Speigner will oversee for the company all of its financial aspects, HR and compliance.

Speigner got her start in the senior living industry working as director of financial services for a Brookdale Senior Living (NYSE: BKD) community. She went on to spend 13 years with Brookdale, most recently working as regional human resources business partner.

Atlas Senior Living owns and operates nine communities in Alabama, Georgia, Kentucky, South Carolina and Tennessee.

Douglas Wilson Promotes Vives to VP Role

Douglas Wilson Companies has promoted senior managing director Michele Vives to the role of vice president. She also will work as an officer of the company.

In her new role, Vives will work in two main areas: the company’s new ground-up senior living division, and its real estate advisory and legacy asset management business platforms.

Her most recent clients with Douglas Wilson Companies include hotel developers, foundations with excess developable land and family trusts.

Senior Star Names Assistant Executive Director for Cincinnati Community

The Kenwood by Senior Star has welcomed Lori Saidleman-Yoh as its new assistant executive director and director of health services.

In her new role, she will help oversee the community’s hospitality services, amenities and programs, with a focus on the community’s assisted living, memory care and skilled nursing settings.

Previously, Saidleman-Yoh worked as executive director and CEO of Covenant Care’s Villa Georgetown Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center.

Remedi Hires Management Team for Chicago-area Pharmacy

Long-term care pharmacy Remedi SeniorCare has hired two executives to lead its forthcoming pharmacy in the Chicago suburb of Downers Grove, Illinois.

Mike Milcarek will work as the pharmacy’s general manager, while Chris Frederick has come aboard as operations manager.

The 50,000 square foot pharmacy is currently expected to open in the third quarter of 2019 and is meant to employ more than 200 people.

Harrison Street Hires Client Services and Marketing VP

Harrison Street, a real estate investment firm that counts senior housing as one of its investment targets, has hired Briana Succop as the firm’s services and marketing team vice president.

In her new role, Succop will develop and expand the firm’s relationships within the consultant community.

Succop has more than 15 years of real estate investment and capital raising experience and previously served as vice president at Abacus Capital Group.
