Heritage Senior Living Announces VP Promotions

Heritage Senior Living has promoted two of its employees: Jaime Schwingel has been named senior vice president of quality and clinical operations, and Jason Berczy is now vice president of business development.

Schwingel, who first came aboard with Heritage in 2017, will help oversee clinical and quality teams for the provider. She also will help the company during its ongoing move from a social model to a medical model.

Berczy, who joined Heritage last year as regional director of business development, has 15 years of experience throughout the health care industry, as well as a degree in psychology and counseling. He will be tasked with creating and nurturing partnerships, driving referral sources and providing sales and marketing training and support.

Watermark Community in Florida Welcomes New Executive Director

Amanda Nykamp is the new executive director of the Watermark at Vistawilla, an 87-unit assisted living and memory care community in Winter Springs, Florida.

In that capacity, she will look after the community’s daily operations and help engage residents and their families.

Nykamp has more than 12 years of experience in the senior living industry, and previously worked as a senior living placement advisor for Premier Senior Consultants, an executive director with Brookdale and an executive director with Oakmonte Village Senior Living.

Senior Living Communities Hires Lifestyle Advisor

Senior Living Communities has hired Samantha Balandimal to the role of lifestyle advisor.

In her new role, Balandimal will help further the provider’s sales and marketing efforts. She will also use her background in counseling to provide guidance and support to Senior Living Communities’ residents.

Executive Chef Joins Virginia Community

Beat Meier is now executive chef for Harbor’s Edge, a True LifeCare community in Norfolk, Virginia.

Meier is tasked with overseeing dining staff and planning menus, among other duties.

Meier, who graduated with honors from a cook apprenticeship in Switzerland, previously worked at Country Club of Virginia in Richmond, Virginia, and most recently was a consultant, interim executive chef and owner of Euro Interim Chef.

Friendship Names New Leader for Virginia Community

Senior living provider Friendship has appointed Brent Poff to lead its Salem Terrace at Harrogate community in Salem, Virginia.

Poff previously worked for 13 years in the home health care hospice industry.

Engel Burman Group Names New Insurance Coordinator

The Engel Burman Group, an owner, developer and manager of senior housing properties, has named Andreas Boyiakis as insurance coordinator.

Boyiakis will help with binding insurance for projects and subcontractor compliance, among other duties.

Boyiakis previously worked as operations manager of Magnetic Construction Group and its subsidiary, Magnetic Builders Group.
