SRI Management Selected for Senior Living Development in South Carolina

CR Properties and SRI Management are collaborating on the development of a senior living community in Greer, South Carolina.

The 135-unit community will have independent living, assisted living and memory care services, and include resort-style amenities and design, the companies said.

D2 Architecture is designing the community, and RW Allen Construction is building it. If all goes according to plan, the project will take about 14 months from groundbreaking to opening.

Developer Plans Senior Living Community at Vermont Mall

Dousevicz, Inc. has announced a plan to develop a 98-unit independent living, assisted living and memory care project in adjacent to a shopping mall in Berlin, Vermont.

The project is moving forward as part of a partnership between Dousevicz and the Heidenberg Properties Group, which owns the mall. The proposal represents a step toward realizing a mixed-use, pedestrian-friendly town center in Berlin.

LCS Announces Plans for New Jersey Community

LCS has announced the closing of financing and start of construction for The Delaney of Bridgewater, an independent, assisted and memory care community in Bridgewater, New Jersey.

The 224-residence community will offer amenities including concierge services, a cafe and bar, clubroom, multi-purpose room, exercise studios, wellness suite and dining venues.

LCS Real Estate facilitated the project’s acquisition and debt placement, while LCS Development is the developer. Life Care Services will manage the community when it opens in the fall of 2020.

Renovations Start at Atria Community in California

General contractor R.D. Olson Construction has broken ground on a new renovation and expansion project for an Atria Senior Living community in Newport Beach, California.

The scope of the work will include a new south wing and a fully renovated north building with accommodations and community spaces for assisted living and memory care residents.

Plans call for the existing south building to be demolished and reconstructed as an 85-unit assisted living building with amenities that include include a two-story living room with floor-to-ceiling windows and a two-story fireplace, a new kitchen, lounge, bistro, library and card room, theater, music room, wellness rooms and an interior courtyard. Residents in the north building will relocate to the south building upon completing.

At the north building, the renovation will include 42 units for memory care and 42 units for assisted living residents. Amenities planned for the north building will include a country kitchen, dining rooms, gathering rooms, a music room, card room, library, interior courtyard and activity rooms.

The project is currently slated for completion in summer 2020. Project partners include Douglas Pancake Architects, CT+C Design Studio, EnGeo, KFPP, P2S Engineering, Inc., Conceptual Design and Planning Company and The Dine Company.

Merrill Gardens Opens Two Communities

Merrill Gardens has opened two new communities in South Carolina and California.

Merrill Gardens at Carolina Park, a 130-apartment community in Mount Pleasant, South Carolina, is now open. It’s located within the Carolina Park master planned community, and represents the first Merrill Gardens community to open in the state. The company has another community under development in Columbia, South Carolina, which is slated to open in 2020.

Merrill Gardens at Rancho Cucamonga (pictured above), a 112-apartment community in Rancho Cucamonga California, is also now open. The community is located in the foothills of the San Gabriel mountains, which lies east of Los Angeles. This is Merrill Gardens’ 12th community in the state, and the company has two others under development and set to open in 2020

Both Merrill Gardens at Carolina Park and Merrill Gardens at Rancho Cucamonga were designed by Urbal Architecture and developed by Merrill Gardens’ sister company, Pillar Properties.

Work Wraps Up for Minnesota Community

The Kraus-Anderson Construction Company has finished work for Riverview Landing, a 142-residence assisted living, independent living and memory care community in Otsego, Minnesota.

The community is owned by Guardian Angels Senior Services, and includes amenities such as emergency call services, a heated therapy pool, pickle ball court, coffee lounge, beauty salon, heated parking garage and walking paths.

The community was designed by Pope Architects.

— A 200-unit independent and assisted living community is part of the plans for a new development in Colonie, New York.

— An assisted living and memory care community is in the works on a plot of land next to a sunflower in Cumming, Georgia.

— A senior housing project with 300 total residences has been proposed for Shawnee, Kansas.

— Plans have been submitted to convert a former hospital into a 165-unit senior housing complex in Winchester, Virginia.

— A senior living provider in Fort Smith, Arkansas, is seeking to expand by adding 26 beds of assisted living and 19 beds of memory care.

— Discussions are underway over plans to convert a former school building into a 70-unit senior living community in Red Wing, Minnesota.

In progress

Construction has started for a 94-unit assisted living and memory care community in Redondo Beach, California.

Complete

— A new 88-unit senior housing community is now open in Park Rapids, Minnesota.
