Caddis to Develop First Heartis Community in Florida

Health care real estate firm Caddis has plans to develop its first Heartis senior living community in the state of Florida.

As planned, Heartis Venice will have 182 independent living, assisted living and memory care apartments and come with access to amenities such as a swimming pool, walking paths, outdoor seating areas and pocket parks, a wellness center, beauty salon and barber shop, activity rooms, secured courtyards and multiple dining venues.

Solvere Living will manage the new community. The project architect is Lantz-Boggio, and the general contractor is Freese Johnson.

Florida Community Announces $100 Million Expansion Project

Waterman Village, a senior living community in Mount Dora, Florida, has unveiled plans for a $100 million expansion project that will add 162 new residences.

The new expansion, Lakeside at Waterman Village, will come with homes that start at 850 square feet and a clubhouse building with new dining venues and fitness areas. Lakeside at Waterman Village will also include smart-home integrations with Amazon Echo devices.

Harbor Retirement Associates, Confluent Senior Living to Break Ground in Tennessee 

Confluent Senior Living and Harbor Retirement Associates (HRA) are set to start work as co-developers on a new senior living community in Cordova, Tennessee.

The community, HarborChase of Cordova, will have 144 apartments in a mix of studio, one-bedroom and two-bedroom units. Residents will have access to a bistro and multiple dining areas, a community life enrichment room, clubroom, arts and crafts space, a barber and beauty salon, library, pool, fitness and wellness center, putting green and an enclosed memory support courtyard.

HRA will manage the community when it opens in the first quarter of 2020. Rosemann & Associates is the project’s architect.

NexCore, Civitas Start Work in Florida

NexCore Group and Civitas Senior Living have broken ground on a new senior housing project in Cape Coral, Florida.

The project, The Waters of Cape Coral, will have 100 assisted living and memory care apartments and come with amenities such as a salon, fitness center, theater, landscaped courtyard, coffee bar and bistro, family room and an activity room. As planned, assisted living units will range from 321 square feed to 946 square feet, and memory care studios will range from 288 to 488 square feet.

Davis Wince, Ltd. Architecture designed the building, Senior by Design was its interior designer and NexCore Group is the project’s developer. If all goes according to plan, the community will open in December, 2019.

Maryland CCRC Breaks Ground on Expansion

Broadmead, a continuing care retirement community (CCRC) in Cockeysville, Maryland, has broken ground on an expansion project.

The scope of the work will include 52 new independent living apartments that are set to welcome new residents in 2020. The CCRC is also upgrading its dementia and senior living services under the expansion.

Leisure Care to Enter North Carolina

Leisure Care is slated to open the doors at its first community in North Carolina early next year

Treeo Raleigh, which is set to open in early 2019, will have 143 independent living apartments. As planned, the community will offer services such as an in-house travel agency, BrainHQ brain training by Posit Science and language learning services by Rosetta Stone. Residents can also schedule housekeeping, transportation, and maintenance appointments through the company’s TreeoConnect app.

Treeo has also struck partnerships with local providers of home health services, rehab services and aquatic classes.

— Des Moines, Iowa, is set to get a new 125-unit independent living community.

— Local officials have given the green light to plans for a 88-unit senior living community in Boca Raton, Florida.

— A developer has plans to turn a former elementary school into a senior living community in Penn Hills, Pennsylvania.

— A CCRC in Richmond, Virginia, is planning to expand by building about 100 new independent living units on the site of a former mall.

In progress

— Work has begun for a 56-unit expansion of a CCRC in Winston-Salem, North Carolina.

— Work is just about to begin for a new life plan community in Naples, Florida.

— Balfour is wrapping up construction for its forthcoming 86-unit assisted living and memory support community in Littleton, Colorado.

Construction has started for a 53-unit senior housing development in Cumberland, Maine.

A ribbon-cutting ceremony was held this month for Red Bluff Senior Living, a senior living community in Red Bluff, California.

Restoration and remodeling work has wrapped up at a senior living community in Palmerton, Pennsylvania.
