Watercrest Senior Living Hires VP Of Dementia Services

Vero Beach, Florida-based Watercrest Senior Living Group hired Hollie Kemp as VP of dementia services and programming. Nationally recognized for her work in Alzheimer’s and dementia care programming, Kemp will lead cutting-edge memory care training and programming for the multiple brands of senior living communities developed, owned and operated by Watercrest.

A 20-year health care industry veteran, Kemp was awarded Argentum’s 2017 Best of the Best award for the creation of “an innovative (memory care) program which works to improve the future of senior living.”

Cota Hires Executive Director

Cota, a data and analytics company that enables providers, payers, and life science companies involved in diagnosing and treating complex diseases to optimize the outcomes of individual patients and lower the overall cost of the patient population served, hired Michael Doyle as President and CEO. He will also serve as a member of Cota’s board of directors. Doyle joins Cota from QPID Health, where he served as president and CEO.

Prior to QPID, Doyle was CEO and chairman of Medsphere Systems Corporation, the developer of OpenVista, an open-source enterprise electronic health record system whose basic source code originated at the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA). While president and CEO of Advantedge Health Solutions, he led the rapid expansion of a cloud based physician revenue cycle management solution for hospital-based physicians. As founder, CEO, and president of Standish Care (CareMatrix), a company he brought public, Doyle was instrumental in creating the “assisted living” category of long-term care. Additionally, he previously held senior leadership positions with two major integrated healthcare delivery systems: Voluntary Hospitals of America (VHA) and National Medical Enterprises (Tenet).

Elder Care Alliance Names New Vice President of HR

Elder Care Alliance, headquartered in Alameda, California, appointed Monica Stinson as Vice President of Human Resources. Stinson joins the team with more than a decade of experience in all aspects of human resources, talent management and business operations. She was most recently a regional HR professional for Sunrise Senior Living where she had oversight of the HR group consisting of 3,000 employees in 36 locations in California, Washington and Utah.

Stinson will oversee human resources at Elder Care Alliance and be responsible for talent management, team member retention and solidifying the Employer of Choice culture at both the corporate and community levels.

Lifespace Communities Hires New Director Of Operations

Lifespace Communities, a senior living provider headquartered in West Des Moines, Iowa, hired industry veteran Rick Oros as director of operations. Most recently the regional director of operations for Tutera Senior Living, Oros brings extensive knowledge and experience to his new role and a track record of successful leadership across all levels of living across the senior living continuum. In the past decade, he has opened seven new communities and led two others through large-scale redevelopments.

Ingleside Names New Director Of Memory Programming

Washington, D.C.-based Ingleside promoted Pamela Mills to director of memory programming. In this role, she will lead Ingleside in creating therapeutic programming for those with neurocognitive disorders.

Previously, Mills served as the director of memory care at the Ingleside at King Farm community. During her tenure at Ingleside, she developed, planned, organized and implemented the day-to-day functions of the Memory Care services. She also originated a social day program for people with dementia-related cognitive impairment from concept to creation called Ingleside Engaged.

Morningside Retirement Community Names New Food & Beverage Director

Morningside of Fullerton, a CCRC in Fullerton, California, promoted Tania Ramirez to Food and Beverage Director. She will manage all aspects of Morningside’s food and beverage activities for the community, including menu planning and food preparation, supervise the culinary and serving staffs, as well as the community’s catering, bakery, food and beverage departments.

Ramirez joined the Morningside culinary crew 17 years ago as a dining room server and embodies Morningside’s internal Talent Development Review (TDR) process, the community’s program to promote from within. The process trains in-house talent to prepare them for the next level in their career path rather than look outside to fill job openings at the community.

Jackson Creek Hires Executive Chef

Jackson Creek Senior Living, a soon-to-open retirement community in Monument, Colorado, hired Kevin Sutton-Brown as its executive chef. He most recently was director of culinary services for New Horizons Foods, Inc., a food service provider to senior living communities across nine states, and he served as executive chef for MorningStar Senior Living at Dayton Place in Denver.

Sutton-Brown held several positions in the Indianapolis area, including kitchen manager for University Heights Health & Living Community; director of dining services for Bethany Village Assisted Living; dining services coordinator for Brookdale Place; and director of food services for Westside Garden Plaza.

Speak Life Hires Executives For New Locations, Corporate HR

Four executives have recently joined the Speak Life team, including Alp Ozsoy as General Manager – Holbrook Decatur, Steve Alden as General Manager – Holbrook Acworth, Kathleen Bienkowski as corporate Chief People Officer, and Cindy Richards is assuming a new role as the lead Community Relations Director, responsible for the $106 million startup at Holbrook Woodstock. Headquartered in Alpharetta, Speak Life is a family-owned business that manages active adult, enriched and inspired living communities across the Southeast.

Ozsoy and Alden will lead and oversee all aspects of the management of their specific campus in accordance with the Speak Life  philosophy, which is based on positivity, optimism and “Ikigai”-purpose of life. Chief People Officer Bienkowski will guide all company HR needs to support company growth, and develop internal HR capabilities to continue to build, enhance and sustain Speak Life’s culture, a new paradigm in the active living industry. At the Holbrook in Woodstock, Community Relations Director Richards will be responsible for the community’s revenue by driving pre-leasing sales and move-in sales to achieve and exceed budgeted occupancy and average daily census.
