$50 Million Community in Arizona On Track for Winter Groundbreaking
Developer, builder and investor the Statesman Group is slated to break ground this winter on a new $50 million senior housing community in Phoenix.
The community, which will be called the Manor Village of Desert Ridge, will have 196 units for independent living, assisted living and memory care residents. On the independent living side, suites will be equipped with a full kitchen, stackable washer and dryer and an emergency call and response system.
If all goes according to plan, construction on the community will wrap up in early 2020.
Senior Living Co-op Announced in Washington
Real Estate Equities Development has announced plans for a new Village Cooperative community in Puyallup, Washington.
As planned, the community will come with a guest suite for friends and families, club room, reading areas, raised outdoor gardening beds, workshop, fitness center, internal storage area and an underground heated parking with a car wash bay. Living options vary from one-bedroom, one-bathroom plans up to two-bedroom, two-bathroom plans with a den.
Real Estate Equities Development currently has 33 Village Cooperative communities that are operating, under construction or scheduled for construction in eight different states.

Work Underway for Clarendale Community in St. Louis
Ryan Companies US, Life Care Services and Harrison Street Real Estate Capital recently celebrated the groundbreaking of the trio’s new Clarendale project in St. Louis.
The community, Clarendale of St. Peters, will have 214 independent living, assisted living and memory care suites. The $55 million senior living community is the first Clarendale-branded community for the region. The companies are also planning a second $100 million community in nearby Clayton, Missouri.
Ryan Companies is project’s the developer and general contractor, SM Wilson is the prime subcontractor and Vessel Architects designed the project. LCS will manage and serve the community.
The community started construction in August, and will open to residents in early 2020.
Ascend, Civitas Break Ground on Texas Community
Ascend Partners and Civitas Senior Living have started work on The Grandview of Chisholm Trail, an 83-unit senior living community in Fort Worth, Texas.
The community will come with amenities such as a salon, fitness center, theater, play area for kids, country store, dog park, coffee bar and bistro and a library. Grandview’s design is inspired partly by the character of the nearby Chisholm Trail corridor.
Sage Development Group, Arrive Architecture Group, Senior by Design and Ridgemont Contractors are all involved in the project. The Grandview of Chisholm Trail is scheduled to open to residents in November, 2019.
Erickson Living CCRC Presents Plans for Expansion
Lantern Hill, an Erickson Living continuing care retirement community (CCRC) in New Providence, New Jersey, recently held a party to unveil plans for its new residential building, Bell Pavilion.
The expansion, which is currently under construction, will add 169 independent living apartment homes along with a restaurant, fitness center, two bocce courts, courtyard with fireplaces and community gardens.
Bell Pavilion is currently on track to open in late 2019.
Atlas Senior Living Breaks Ground on Georgia Community
Atlas Senior Living has broken ground on a new independent living, assisted living and memory care community in Columbus, Georgia.
The community, Legacy Reserve Old Town, will come with an indoor saltwater pool, spa and salon, full-service fitness center, a movie theatre, multiple dining options and outdoor walking trails.
If all goes according to plan, the community will open in May, 2020.
Senior Living Community Coming Together in Texas
Senior housing developer, owner and operator Abby Development recently began construction on The Lodge at Pine Creek, a 217-unit senior development in Baytown, Texas.
Residents can choose from a variety of unit plans, including one- and two-bedroom independent living apartments; two- and three-bedroom independent living cottages; one- and two-bedroom assisted living suites; and private and semi-private memory care apartments.
The 17-acre campus will also have amenities such as a stocked fishing lake, courtyards with water features, walking trails, movie theaters, an indoor swimming pool, pharmacy and general store, beauty salons, libraries and a fitness center.
Maryland Retirement Community Breaks Ground on Redevelopment Project
The Friends House Retirement Community in Sandy Spring, Maryland, has started work on a redevelopment and expansion project that will add new apartments and amenities.
The more than $30 million project includes the construction of 47 new residential living apartments and cottage homes, and new amenities such as dining venues, a fitness center, interior courtyard and additional gardening areas and green space.
Friends House also separately plans to build mixed-income housing options through a partnership with nonprofit housing development organization Homes for America (HFA).
Iowa Community Poised to Hold Groundbreaking for Expansion
Arlington Place at Oelwein, a senior living community in Oelwein, Iowa, will soon hold a groundbreaking ceremony for an expansion project that will add new independent living townhomes.
The new townhomes will have two bedrooms, two bathrooms, an attached two-car garage, living room, dining room, full kitchen, back deck and an unfinished basement.
If all goes according to plan, construction is scheduled to wrap up in the spring of 2019.

— A proposed 146-unit senior housing complex could start to take shape soon in Mentor, Ohio.
— Plans are moving forward for a 124-unit senior living community in Mt. Juliet, Tennessee.
— A planned 155-home active adult community has won approval in Cobb County, Georgia.
— Cedarhurst Senior Living is poised to begin work soon for a new assisted living community in Arnold, Missouri.
— Construction could begin as soon as November on a 162-unit senior living community in Sebring, Florida.
— A proposed 90-unit senior living community is now one step closer to reality in Tullahoma, Tennessee.

— Work has begun on a $28 million Omni Senior Living community in Seven Hills, Ohio.
— Construction has commenced for a $52 million senior living project in Oconomowoc, Wisconsin.
