Watercrest, United Properties Announce Plans for Florida Community
Watercrest Senior Living Group and United Properties have announced their next project together.
Construction firm Walker and Company is set to begin work on a 198-unit senior living community in Sarasota, Florida, this fall.
As planned, the Watercrest Sarasota Senior Living Community will have amenities such as a promenade, fireplace, water wall, multiple dining options, pool, salon and spa and a market street plaza with an “outdoor” streetscape designed for memory care residents.
The new community’s scheduled completion date is in the summer of 2020.
Newly Opened AgeWell Community in Georgia Plans Expansion
Celebration Village, a senior living community that opened in Suwanee, Georgia last December, now plans to add 58 apartments to its independent-living neighborhood.
The planned apartments will have one- and two-bedroom units with design features such as custom cabinets and granite countertops.
AgeWell Living, which operates the community, expects to complete the expansion in fall of 2019. The project’s developer is Active Senior Concepts, and the builder is R.W. Smith.

SRG’s First Texas Project On Track for 2019 Opening
Senior Resource Group (SRG) is on track to open Maravilla at The Domain, its first Texas community, by mid-2019.
The company recently topped out all three of the community’s towers. As planned, the 230-residence community will have an 11-story south tower, six- and seven-story central and north Towers, subterranean parking, courtyards and a swimming pool.
Currently, workers are almost a quarter of the way through installing exterior glass on the topped-out north tower. Roofing and external sheathing were already installed, window installation is in progress, as is interior framing and mechanical, electrical and plumbing. The company has targeted Sept. 1 as the start date for interior finish work to begin on the north tower.

Aegis Living Opens Mediterranean-Inspired Community in Seattle
Aegis Living has opened another property with Mediterranean influences near Seattle.
The company recently announced the opening of Aegis of West Seattle (pictured above), a senior living community “reminiscent of a hotel in sundrenched Capri, Italy.” The property has 83 apartment-style units and design elements such as ocean-themed art, blue accents, a submarine-sized and themed aquarium, an authentic tugboat, and local memorabilia.
Earlier this year, Aegis opened Aegis at Ravenna, a different community “infused with Italian hospitality” and also located in Seattle.

— An 88-unit senior living community could rise from a vacant lot in Mundelein, Illinois.
— Officials in Rome, Georgia, have given the go-ahead to a senior living provider to add between 34 and 36 new townhomes for independent living residents.
— Plans are moving forward for a 101-unit assisted living and memory care community in Kyle, Texas.
— Commonwealth Senior Living recently celebrated a finished $5.5 million renovation project at its community in Danville, Virginia.

— A $20 million senior living community is coming together in Marion, Iowa.
— Workers are now building the first phase of a 73-unit assisted living community in Chattanooga, Tennessee.
