Masterpiece Living Names New COO

Masterpiece Living has named Khristine Rogers as its new COO.

Rogers has nearly 30 years of experience in senior living sales and operations, and served as Masterpiece Living’s strategic innovation advisor since 2016. Before joining Masterpiece Living, she served as vice president of marketing and communications for the Alzheimer’s Association of Colorado.

In her new role, Rogers will help lead the organization during a period of growth. Masterpiece Living is a multi-specialty group that partners with other organizations across the U.S. to support them as centers for successful aging.

Caring.com Announces New CFO

Senior care referral service Caring.com has added Lia Burke to its management team as CFO.

In her new role, Burke will support the firm as it continues to expand under the new ownership of Caring Holdings, LLC. She is also tasked with looking after the company’s finance and accounting departments.

Burke previously served as CFO at RadiumOne Inc., where she helped raise debt and equity financing, manage rapid employee expansion, and support new subsidiaries in Europe and Asia.

Brandywine Living CEO Elected Chairman of SLCC Board

Brenda Bacon, president and CEO of Brandywine Living, was recently elected to serve as the new chairman of the Senior Living Certification Commission’s (SLCC) board of commissioners.

The SLCC is a nonprofit formed by senior living industry association Argentum in 2015 to establish credentialing programs for the senior living industry.

Additionally, Christy Contardi Stone, a senior vice president of human capital and strategic initiatives at Welltower, was elected to serve as the SLCC’s secretary-treasurer, while David Eskenazy, president of Merrill Gardens; and Stephanie Handelson, CEO of Harmony Senior Services, were elected to join the board as commissioners.

Los Angeles Jewish Home CEO to Chair LeadingAge California

Molly Forrest, CEO and president of the Los Angeles Jewish Home, has been elected to serve as the next chair of LeadingAge California. Her two-year term officially begins on July 1.

Forrest—who has led the Los Angeles Jewish Home for 22 years—served on the LeadingAge board since 2009, most recently in the role of vice chair. The Jewish Home serves more than 4,000 seniors at campuses in the San Fernando Valley and on the west side of Los Angeles.

In her new role, Forrest will help senior living providers tackle statewide industry issues, including the expected 87 percent increase in California’s senior population by 2030.

Asbury Group Appoints President for Integrated Technologies

Nick Patel in April began a new role as president of The Asbury Group’s Integrated Technologies consulting arm, the company announced.

In his new role, Patel will be responsible for the growth of the business, as well as the strategic and operational planning and execution of technology hardware and software initiatives and programs. He brings to the job more than 15 years of experience in finance, accounting, operations and sales management in the U.S. and abroad.

Patel joins The Asbury Group from CompuGain, a global provider of business solutions, technology consulting services and outsourced project services.

LCB Names Executive Director for New Hampshire Community

LCB Senior Living appointed Shari LaRoche as executive director of The Residence at Salem Woods, a community it owns and operates in Salem, New Hampshire.

LaRoche has more than 20 years of experience in the senior living industry. Previously, she worked for Genesis HealthCare, where she was responsible for the operations of several skilled nursing and rehabilitation centers in the state of Massachusetts.

Forthcoming CCRC in Dallas Welcomes New Executive Director

Rick Pruett was named executive director for Ventana by Buckner, a Bucker Retirement Services continuing care retirement community (CCRC) scheduled to open in Dallas next year.

Pruett, most recently a vice president and director of operations management for Life Care Services, has worked in the senior living industry since 1998. He began his new role with Ventana on June 18, and will lead the senior living community as it prepares to open next year.

North Carolina Life Plan Community Appoints Executive Director

Grace Ridge Retirement Community, a life plan community in Morganton, North Carolina, has named Chris Romick as executive director.

In his new role, Romick will oversee the community’s day-to-day operations. He brings to the job more than 20 years of experience in the senior living industry, including as marketing director, regional director and executive director.

Sweetbay Senior Living Names Executive Director for Pennsylvania Community

The Residence at Logan, a senior living community in Bethel Park, Pennsylvania, is welcoming Doreen Bufalini as the community’s new executive director.

Bufalini has more than 11 years of experience in the senior living industry, most recently serving as director of independent living operations and sales and marketing at Willows Heights Independent Living in McKees Rocks, Pennsylvania.

Tennessee Community Promotes Employee to Resident Care Director

The Pointe at Lifespring Senior Living, an Integral Senior Living (ISL) community in Knoxville, Tennessee, has promoted Matt Calfee to the position of resident care director.

In his new role, Calfee will ensure residents get wellness care and assistance as well as implementing and overseeing medication programs and policies. He joined the community’s nursing staff last year, and has more than 15 years of health care experience.

Prior to joining The Pointe at Lifespring, Calfee worked as an EMT, and for the Knox County Sheriff’s Office as a special operations medic and nurse.

Interior Design Firm Spellman Brady & Company Hires Designer

Spellman Brady & Company, an interior design firm, has hired Kelli Sargent as a designer.

In her new role, Sargent will support the firm as it serves clients who operate in the health care, senior living and higher education market sectors.

Sargent is a graduate of Southeast Missouri State University, and a former intern with Spellman Brady.
