Blake Management, Quality Senior Living Team Up for Mississippi Community

Blake Management Group and the management team from Quality Senior Living are planning to open The Blake at Biloxi, a 118-unit assisted living and memory care community in Biloxi, Mississippi.

Assisted living residences are planned to include one- or two-bedroom apartments with options that include a balcony or porch. On the memory care side, apartment options include studio and deluxe studio units with walk-in closets.

Planned amenities include a piano bar and lounge, a coffee and ice cream shop, salon and spa, on-site therapy services, chapel, theater room, activity rooms, landscaped courtyards with an outdoor fire pavilion, fountains and raised gardens, library, fitness center and transportation for residents.

Arrive Architecture Group is designing the community, while EBM Group and Clark Construction have signed on to serve as the project’s as general contractor.

Balfour Breaks Ground on First Community Outside Colorado

Balfour Senior Living officially broke ground this week on a new $35 million senior living community in Ann Arbor, Michigan, its first outside of Colorado.

The 150-unit independent living, assisted living and memory care community will include perks for residents such as farm-to-table dining, fitness center, chauffeured transportation services, an on-site spa and beauty care, and a saltwater indoor swimming pool. It will also have a dedicated unit for a University of Michigan scholar, who will live at the community and share expertise.

Currently, Balfour has six operating communities in Colorado, with three more under construction and two others in the development pipeline.

Work to Begin for Coastal Senior Living Community

Blue Mountain Construction Services and Pragma Management are scheduled to break ground on June 20 for The Lodge at Glen Cove, a 141-unit senior living community planned along the coast in Vallejo, California.

As planned, The Lodge at Glen Cove will have a movie theater, a cafe with a gelato machine and coffee, library, a recreation room for private events, outdoor courtyards, common areas, and a “luxury restaurant-style” dining room that offers views of the water.

The community is being built by Blue Mountain Construction Services, and will be managed by Pragma Management.

Spectrum Retirement to Open Sixth Community in Arizona

Spectrum Retirement is scheduled to open soon its sixth senior living community in the state of Arizona.

The senior living provider will on June 18 hold a grand opening for The Enclave at Chandler Senior Living, a 159-unit independent living, assisted living and memory care community in Chandler, Arizona.

Amenities include chef-prepared meals, a wellness center with exercise equipment and classes, gardens, a theater and a full-service salon, and a full activity calendar.

LCB Senior Living Holds Grand Opening for Massachusetts Community

LCB Senior Living on June 14 celebrated the grand opening of a new independent living, assisted living and memory care community in Shrewsbury, Massachusetts.

The community has 80 apartments, and first announced its opening last year in November. Amenities include a fitness center, secure memory care courtyard and “anytime” dining.

— Developer Clark Street Real Estate has new plans to bring a 265-unit independent and assisted living community to Chicago’s northwest side.

— A planning board in Ware, Massachusetts has given the OK to plans for a new $15 million, 118-unit senior living community.

— A senior living community with 16 homes is in the works for New Wilmington, Pennsylvania.

— Local opposition is expected for a plan to bring an independent and assisted living community to Lexington, Massachusetts.

— A former junior high school could in Oswego, Illinois, could become a senior living community if a developer’s plans go through.

— Officials in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, are set to hear a proposal for a $33 million, 81-unit independent and assisted living community.

— Premier Memory Care Living has plans to build a 64-unit memory care community in Orlando, Florida.

— A planning commission in Piqua, Ohio, has given the go-ahead to a plan to expand a senior living community there.

In progress

— Work is underway for a new a 135-unit independent living, assisted living and memory care community in Columbus, Ohio.

— Construction crews are hard at work building a mixed-use development that will include a 100-unit senior living community in Columbus, Ohio.

— A 113-unit senior living community is now coming together in Taylor, Pennsylvania.

Work has begun for a 162-unit senior living community in Union, Ohio.

— A $3.5 million memory care community in Waynesboro, Virginia, is slated to open when work wraps up next spring.

—A June 23 event will celebrate the grand opening of a Belmont Village community in Lakeway, Texas.

— Brandywine Senior Living has opened a 116-unit community in Alexandria, Virginia.
