Blake Management Group to Start Work on South Carolina Community

Blake Management Group will host a groundbreaking event on June 13 for The Blake at Baxter Village, an independent living, assisted living and memory care community in Fort Mill, South Carolina.

The community was developed by Cardinal Ventures, and construction is expected to be finished in the spring of 2019.

The Blake at Baxter Village is Blake Management Group’s second community in the Charlotte area, and its fourth in the state.

Housing Trust Group Breaks Ground on Redevelopment Project in Florida

Housing Trust Group, and the Lakeland Housing Authority have broken ground on the redevelopment of West Lake Apartments, a public senior housing complex located in Lakeland, Florida.

The first of three planned development phases, Twin Lakes Estates, will turn the 120 units that formed West Lake Apartments into a modern development with 318 new one- and two-bedroom affordable apartments for seniors.  Amenities at Twin Lakes Estates include a computer and reading room, community room with a chef’s kitchen, theater room and a picnic pavilion.

Phase Two of the redevelopment will add 132 units for families and is slated to begin at the beginning of 2019.

Wolff Pre-Leasing for Las Vegas Community

Private equity firm and developer the Wolff Company has started pre-leasing for Revel Vegas, a forthcoming independent living community in Las Vegas.

As planned, the property offers 132 studio, one-, and two-bedroom apartment homes and such amenities as a salon and spa, theater room, fitness center, and dining options from restauranteur Beau MacMillan.

Revel Vegas is set to be managed by Clearwater Living, and is expected to open later this year.

Sodalis to Expand Texas Community This Month

Sodalis Senior Living is slated to expand one of its senior living communities in Buda, Texas, in mid-to-late June.

The new community, Sodalis Buda Summit Oaks Assisted Living, will served as an expansion to the company’s memory care property next door. As planned, the new assisted living expansion will have 48 apartments in studio and one-bedroom floorplan selections, all of which include a kitchenette.

Amenities include a “spa-like” salon, a wellness and exercise room, movie theater, wine bar, large dining area, common patio and a prayer room, multiple living areas and private patios in select apartments. Residents will also have access to free shuttle service to local restaurants, shops and other attractions.

Sodalis currently has senior living communities in Buda, Dripping Springs, Garden Ridge, New Braunfels, Stone Oak, San Marcos, Victoria and Waco, Texas.

— Developer SSL Investment Partners is moving forward with its plan for a 146-unit Harborchase community in Rockville, Maryland.

— Work is slated to begin this winter for a $50 million, 196-unit senior living community in Phoenix, Arizona.

— A developer is planning to bring a 56-unit senior living community to Satsuma, Alabama.

— A mixed-use development in Limerick, Pennsylvania, is planned to include 308 senior living units and 160 townhomes.

— The zoning hearing board in Harrison, Pennsylvania, has given its blessing to plans for a 40-unit independent living community.

In progress

— Construction is nearly underway for a new life plan community in Naples, Florida.

— Local officials in East Naples have given the go-ahead for the construction of a new 127-unit assisted living community.

— Providence Point, a senior living community in Scott Township, Pennsylvania, has started construction on a 70-unit expansion project.

— A $10 million senior housing project is now under construction in Tallahassee, Florida.

Complete

— A grand opening has been scheduled for a new 95-unit independent living, assisted living and memory care community in Murfreesboro, Tennessee.

— Work has nearly wrapped up for a 75-acre senior housing development in Pooler, Georgia.
