Former Senior Lifestyle COO Joins OnShift
Workforce management software firm OnShift has hired Lisa Fordyce to the newly created role of executive vice president of enterprise development for senior living.
Before coming aboard at OnShift, Fordyce was COO of Senior Lifestyle Corporation, where she led the company’s overall operational strategies for about a year. She first stepped into the COO role in 2016, after nearly two years with Senior Lifestyle as senior vice president of operations.
Fordyce, who started her career as as a caregiver, also previously held management positions with Emeritus Senior Living and ARV Assisted Living.
“Lisa’s passion for the profession, deep working knowledge of senior living operations, and blend of business and healthcare experience have made her one of the most highly regarded leaders in senior living,” said Mark Woodka, OnShift CEO, in a statement. “We are excited to have Lisa on board and look forward to the impact she will make with our clients and their drive for workforce and operational excellence.”
Eden Alternative Appoints New President and CEO
The Eden Alternative’s board of directors has selected Jill Vitale-Aussem to serve as the organization’s new president and CEO. The Eden Alternative’s current president and CEO, Chris Perna, is retiring after eight years of leading the organization.
Founded by senior living innovator Bill Thomas more than two decades ago, the Eden Alternative was an early proponent of “person-centered care,” helping to drive a so-called “culture change” movement in nursing homes and other senior living settings.
Vitale-Aussem joined Colorado-based Christian Living Communities (CLC) in 2009 as executive director of Clermont Park, an Eden registry member, where she led the community through a $75 million redevelopment project. Most recently, she served as the vice president of operations of Cappella Living Solutions, the management and consulting arm of CLC.
Cadence Senior Living Hires Vice President of Operations
Cadence Senior Living has appointed Susan Stangroom to the role of vice president of operations.
Stangroom, who is based in California, will now be responsible for the operations of Cadence’s West Coast portfolio.
Prior to joining Cadence, Stangroom was head of operations at Westmont Living, where she managed operations of the provider’s entire portfolio. She also previously held operational roles at Atria Senior Living and Episcopal Senior Communities.
Her expertise includes internal audits for regulatory compliance, market survey studies, development of policies and procedures, portfolio management, community design and operational turn-around. Stangroom is also a trained chef from the Culinary Institute of America.
Atria Promotes Employee to Regional Vice President
Atria Senior Living has promoted Jane Germaine to serve as vice president of its newly formed West Los Angeles/Valley Region, which includes seven communities in the west Los Angeles, San Fernando Valley and Ventura County markets.
Germaine, who previously served as a senior executive director for Atria, will oversee operations, service and care delivery for the new region, according to a report on the Ventura County Star.
Presbyterian Homes & Services Appoints Vice President for Development Arm
Presbyterian Homes & Services has named Jon Fletcher as a vice president of its development arm, Senior Housing Partners. Fletcher will co-lead Senior Housing Partners with vice president Bill Hagstrom and Senior Lifestyle Design, the organizaiton’s interior design team.
Fletcher was most recently vice president of development for Lennar Multifamily Communities, where he specialized in the development of luxury urban and mixed-use apartment communities. Before that, he worked for Alatus in Minneapolis as director of development.
In total, Fletcher brings more than a decade of experience in real estate, development, for-profit and not-for-profit leadership, entrepreneurship and project management. His background includes marketing, acquisitions, asset management, portfolio analysis, and organizational development.
Harrison Street Announces New Chief Accounting Officer
Harrison Street Real Estate Capital, a real estate investment firms centered around the education, health care and storage sectors, has named Erin Nahumyk as its new chief accounting officer. In this new role, Nahumyk will be responsible for all aspects of Harrison Street’s accounting, tax, and treasury management functions.
Nahumyk has nearly two decades of experience in finance and accounting within the real estate sector, including financial reporting, accounting policy, assurance, and financial and accounting consulting. She joins Harrison Street from Jones Lang LaSalle, where she served as executive vice president and chief accounting officer.
Last June, Harrison Street closed its sixth U.S. opportunistic real estate fund at $950 million in equity commitments, some of which was put toward senior housing investments.
Love Funding Names Director of Originations
Love Funding, a provider of FHA multifamily, affordable and healthcare financing, has announced Sharon Thole has joined the company as a director of originations.
In her new role, Thole will help Love Funding expand their nationwide healthcare lending capabilities under the guidance of senior director Leonard Lucas.
Thole joins Love Funding after serving as a COO for a senior living nonprofit in Minneapolis. She has also served in executive operations and business development positions with national nursing home organizations.
Life Care Community in New York Expands Board of Trustees
Peconic Landing, a life care community in Greenport, New York, has appointed three new members to its board of trustees.
The new appointments are Claudia Ward, Eileen McGuire and Paul May, and there terms started in January. The 14-member board of trustees approves all of the community’s operating budgets, annual operating plans, and strategic planning initiatives.
Wingate Community Opening in Massachusetts Names Executive Director
Wingate Healthcare has named Katy Tavares executive director of Wingate Residences at Haverhill, an assisted living and memory care assisted living community opening in Haverhill, Massachusetts, later this year.
Tavares, who has more than 22 years of senior living experience, previously served as executive director for two Northbridge Companies memory care communities in the state.
She has also executive director roles for three different communities, and served in sales and marketing positions with senior living communities throughout Massachusetts.
