Life Care Services CCRC in Maryland Appoints Executive Director

Blakehurst Senior Living, a continuing care retirement community (CCRC) managed by Life Care Services in Towson, Maryland, recently named Paula O’Neill as its new executive director.

In her new role, she will oversee the administration and strategic plan of Blakehurst. O’Neill is has more than 30 years of experience, specializing in the administration and management of senior living communities.

She previously served as administrator and executive director of a senior living community in Ellicott City, Maryland. Before that, O’Neill acted for 10 years as executive director of Maryland Masonic Homes, a CCRC in Hunt Valley, Maryland.

O’Neill has also served on professional association boards including Leading Age Maryland, the Masonic Communities and Services Association and the Maryland Association of Non-Profit Homes for the Aging (MANPHA).

Watercrest Hires Executive Director for Florida Memory Care Community

Watercrest Senior Living Group has announced the hiring of Jennifer Harris as executive director of its forthcoming Market Street Memory Care Residence in Palm Coast, Florida.

Over two decades, Harris has served as an executive director for independent, assisted living and memory care communities. Her past experience includes managing the assimilation of multiple buildings into one campus and opening of a new community on Florida’s east coast.

The 64-unit senior living community, which welcomes residents later this year, has amenities, programming and other services designed for seniors living with Alzheimer’s and dementia. For example, the community has a “market plaza,” a faux-outdoor streetscape with a newsstand, art gallery, bakery, salon and spa and post office.

Long Island CCRC Names New Executive Director, Administrator

The Amsterdam at Harborside, a CCRC in Port Washington, New York, has appointed Brooke Navarre to the role of executive director and Michael Tartaglia as administrator of its Tuttle Center.

Navarre joined the community in 2015 as its assistant executive director. Before that, she managed luxury high-rise cooperatives oversaw the day-to-day operation of a 2,900-unit cooperative corporation in Queens.

Tartaglia, who has 35 years of experience in total, has managed sub-acute and long-term care facilities in New York and Connecticut. He also has a background in systems implementation and community relations.

Chicago Architecture Firm Gets New Partner

Chicago-based senior housing and long-term health care architectural firm Worn Jerabek Wiltse Architects announced it promoted Heidi Wang to the role of partner.

The firm also promoted employees Keith Criminger, Elizabeth Godbold and Michelle Sablack to the role of associate.
