Aegis Living Appoints New Chief People Officer
Aegis Living has appointed Sandra Preyale as its new chief people officer.
In her new role, Preyale will aim to revitalize the company’s recruitment and retention strategies with the continued goal of attracting and retaining top talent.
Preyale joins Aegis Living with 30 years of experience as a global human resources leader. Preyale previously served as a vice president of human resources at Amazon, where she oversaw seven business groups and 75 global human resources partners for Amazon Marketplace, among other duties.
She also spent five years at Coach, where she built human resources teams in Asia, Europe and New York.
Heritage Senior Living Welcomes New CFO
Heritage Senior Living, along with its parent company MSP Real Estate, announced the hiring of Lars Johnson as the companies’ new CFO.
In his new role, Johnson will lead financial management for both MSP Real Estate and Heritage Senior Living. Johnson, who will be based out of MSP’s offices in Mendota Heights, Minnesota, also aims to further integrate the firm’s operations and financial teams.
Johnson was formerly the vice president of finance at Southview Senior Communities and brings to his new job more than 17 years of accounting experience in the health care industry. He also spent nearly a decade in public accounting and worked with clients on financial modeling, strategic planning and feasibility studies.
Arbor Names New Senior Vice President of Operations
The Arbor Company has named Michelle Hamilton to the role of senior vice president of operations.
Hamilton, whose new job officially began March 19, now handles the day-to-day leadership of Arbor’s operations. She arrived at Arbor by way of Country Meadows Retirement Communities in Pennsylvania, where she served as senior vice president and chief of senior living operations. Hamilton first joined Country Meadows in 1993.
Hamilton will relocate from Pennsylvania to Atlanta later this year.
Omega Senior Living Announces New COO
Omega Senior Living has promoted Lynn Lavallee to the role of COO.
Lavallee, who joined Omega Senior Living in 2016 as vice president of operations, has served in various managerial roles in the senior living industry for 19 years. Her leadership responsibilities have included a portfolio of up to 16 communities, with responsibilities including day-to-day operations, sales and marketing, clinical, acquisition and new development.
To fill the vacancy left by the promotion, Anita Vincent-Fernandez will take over as Omega’s new vice president of operations and sales.
Omega currently manages three continuing care retirement community (CCRC) campuses and three independent assisted living communities in Kansas and Oklahoma.
Argentum Hires Vice President of Quality Improvement
Senior care industry association Argentum has named John Schulte as vice president of quality improvement.
In his new role, Schulte will support the development of quality initiatives, including a multi-phased strategy for creating awareness and education, developing standards and guidelines, as well as certification and credentialing for senior living professionals.
Schulte brings to Argentum more than 25 years of experience managing trade associations and working with volunteer leaders to establish standards and professional development programs. Most recently, Schulte worked as the director of accreditation for Sufka & Associates in Washington, D.C. where he helped restructure and prepare associations for personnel certification accreditation.
Berkadia Hires Senior Director for Senior Housing and Health Care Team
Berkadia has hired Chris Cain to serve as a senior director on its senior housing and health care team.
Cain joins Berkadia from Commerce Bank, where he led the company’s national seniors housing platform and specialized in health care finance. There, he was responsible for the origination of private-pay senior housing transactions, including construction, acquisition and loan terms.
He will be based in the firm’s Dallas office and report to senior managing director Heidi Brunet.
WESTliving Names General Manager for California Community
The Commons at Union Ranch, a 98-unit WESTliving senior living community in Manteca, California, recently welcomed Cameron Burgett as its new general manager.
Burgett has more than seven years of assisted living experience, including three with WESTliving. He started at The Commons at Union Ranch as a resident services manager.
Springpoint Senior Living Care Manager Becomes ALCA Member
Deborah Perry, a geriatric care manager with Springpoint Senior Living’s Springpoint at Home, was recently accepted as an associate member of the Aging Life Care Association (ALCA).
As a member of ALCA, Perry adheres to the standards of practice and code of ethics developed by the association and its members.
In her current role with Springpoint, Perry guides and advocates for families who are caring for older relatives or adults living with disabilities. Specifically, she assists clients with the challenges of aging, such as finding appropriate housing, in-home care, referrals to medical providers or elder law attorneys.
