Senior Housing Management Planning Addition at Iowa Community

Senior Housing Management has announced plans for a $3.9 million addition at its existing 36-apartment Country Meadow Place retirement community in Mason City, Iowa. The addition will include 20 new assisted living apartments in addition to a dining room, common area lounge, private dining area, library and an exercise area.

Dean Snyder Construction is building the project, with Solum Lang Architects designing it. If all goes according to plan, workers will wrap up on the addition in the spring of 2019.

Wolff Announces Plans to Develop New Senior Housing in Oregon

The Wolff Company is set to break ground later this year on Revel AmberGlen, a new independent living community near Portland, Oregon.

The four-story property will have 140 studio, one-, and two-bedroom independent living residences and amenities such as underground parking with elevator access, a fitness and yoga studio, a full-service salon and spa, an art studio, multiple restaurants and an indoor swimming pool.

Revel AmberGlen is expected to open in 2020.

Arizona CCRC Building New Assisted Living Apartments

Sagewood, a continuing care retirement community (CCRC) in Phoenix, Arizona, is expanding with a new 44-apartment assisted living center.

The new living space, dubbed Desert Willow Assisted Living, will have modern floorplans with large windows, private bedrooms with walk-in closet, open kitchens with refrigerators, an individually controlled thermostat, cable television and a design that reflects “the majesty of the surrounding Sonoran Desert,” the company said.

Planned amenities include a formal, restaurant-style dining room, fitness area, outdoor patios, secure courtyard, central living room, computer area, a library, chapel, and family areas for private dining.

Construction for the project is already underway, with a planned opening date later this fall. Todd & Associates is serving as the project’s architect; Spellman Brady & Company is providing interior design; and the Weitz Company is the general contractor for Desert Willow Assisted Living.

Watercrest Opens Florida Assisted Living and Memory Care Community

Watercrest Senior Living Group recently celebrated the grand opening of the Watercrest St. Lucie West Assisted in Port St. Lucie, Florida.

Watercrest St. Lucie West is a 128-unit, 112,000-square foot assisted living and memory care community. Amenities include a wine bistro, spa, pool and multiple dining options with locally grown and seasonal ingredients.

The community has upscale design features like a “stunning” promenade, fireplace, water wall, grand balconies and outdoor living spaces with water views.

Senior Housing Management Adds Memory Care Apartments at Iowa Community

Prairie Hills at Independence, a Senior Housing Management assisted living and memory care community located in Independence, Iowa, has expanded its memory are program with four additional apartments.

With the newly announced expansion complete, Prairie Hills now has a total of 16 memory care apartments, in both studio and one-bedroom options.

— Local officials have given the OK to Cascadia Senior Living and Development to build a 179-unit independent living, assisted living and memory community in Silverdale, Washington.

Plans to turn a golf course into a retirement community with single-family homes, townhouses, independent living apartments and assisted living and memory care housing has caused concern among some neighbors in Rotterdam, N.Y.

— Local officials in the Chicago suburb of Highland Park have approved Atria Senior Living’s plans for an 86-unit assisted living and memory care community.

— Work is now underway for a 162-dwelling Brightview Senior Living community in Shelton, Connecticut.

— Construction for the Latitude Margaritaville project planned to open in Daytona Beach, Florida, is moving steadily ahead.

— A senior living community in Raleigh, North Carolina, is on a hiring spree ahead of its grand opening.

— Trilogy Health Services is scheduled to host a groundbreaking ceremony for a new senior living community in Ferdinand, Indiana.

Complete

— A 149-unit senior living community called Arbour Square has opened West Goshen, Pennsylvania.

— Construction has wrapped up for Aspens at Wade Park, a 162-unit independent living community in Frisco, Texas.

— Employees of the Villa Capri recently held a grand opening ceremony for the 87-unit senior living community in Gates, New York.
