Provision Eyes Michigan for Next Community
Provision Living, a St. Louis-based senior housing owner and operator, is proposing to develop a $40 million upscale independent living, assisted living and memory care community in Macomb Township, Michigan.
The property has a special use permit for senior living and can be developed for as many as 217 units, according to a press release.
As planned, the 200,000-square-foot community will have amenities such as a beauty salon, exercise room, therapy space, movie theater, large common spaces, landscaped courtyards, patios and walkways.
Workers could break ground on the planned community before the end of the year.

Brightview Senior Living Breaks Ground on Community Near D.C.
Brightview Senior Living recently started work on a new eight-story senior living community in downtown Bethesda, Maryland, according to a press release.
The towering community, dubbed Brightview Bethesda Woodmont, will have 112 private and semi-private apartments for residents who need assisted living or memory care services. Planned amenities include rooftop dining, a sloped-floor theater, a fitness area, salon/spa services and an activity room.
Construction is expected to wrap up by the summer of 2019.
The new Bethesda Woodmont community will mark Brightview’s 40th community since 1999, and was made possible through a $43.6 million loan from SunTrust Bank.
CA Senior Living Starts Work on Atria Community Near Chicago
CA Senior Living, the senior housing investment and development division of CA Ventures, recently began construction for a 128-unit senior living community in Bolingbrook, Illinois.
The development, Atria at River Trail, will offer a mix of private and shared assisted living apartments and memory care studios, according to a press release. Atria Senior Living will operate the community, which is scheduled to open in late summer 2018.
Planned amenities include multiple dining options and gathering spaces, activity room, theater, library, salon, a fitness center and space for residents to receive services such as physician consultations.
The community was designed by the Chicago office of Harley Ellis Devereaux.

Watercrest Opens Florida Memory Care Property
Watercrest Senior Living Group recently held a red-carpet event to celebrate the grand opening of Market Street Memory Care Residence, a 64-unit memory care community in Tampa, Florida, according to a press release.
Designed by LifeBUILT Architecture, Market Street Memory Care Residence East Lake has an “outdoor” mock streetscape with a salon and spa, bakery, post office, and numerous LifeBUILT programming features. Other design aspects include plenty of natural lighting, internal courtyards with gardens, circular walkways, and visual cueing for memory care residents.
Market Street Memory Care Residences were envisioned by Market Street co-owner Marc Vorkapich, CEO and principal of parent company Watercrest Senior Living Group.
StoneGate Community in Texas Adds All-Female Memory Care Wing
Williamsburg Village Healthcare Campus, a community managed by StoneGate Senior Living in DeSoto, Texas, has unveiled an all-female, 24-bed memory care wing addition, according to a press release.
The new memory care wing focuses on dementia-specific programming, such as music and memory programs, and adds to the skilled nursing and rehab services already offered at the campus.
Williamsburg Village’s memory care unit will accept both Medicaid and private pay.
Foremost Companies Opens 55+ Community in California
Foremost Companies has opened its third 55+ neighborhood in Terramor, a master-planned community just south of Corona, California.
The new neighborhood’s 105 homes will start around $500,000 and have floor plans ranging from 2,206 to 2,483 square feet, with up to three bedrooms, two to three bathrooms and two-car garages, according to a press release.
When completed, the entire Terramor community will include 1,443 single-family homes spanning sixteen neighborhoods.
Renovation Complete at Affordable Housing for Seniors in California
WNC, a national investor in real estate and community development initiatives has completed a $6.5 million renovation of the Miracle Terrace Apartments, an affordable housing community for seniors in Anaheim, California.
WNC provided approximately $17 million in low-income housing tax credit (LIHTC) equity to help fund the acquisition of and renovations to the 179-unit community, according to a press release.
The project came together in partnership with WNC’s subsidiary, Community Preservation Partners , and non-profit Jamboree Housing Corporation.

— A $70 million, 248-unit independent and assisted living community is in the works for Fort Worth, Texas.

— Kensington Senior Living is looking to open a new assisted living community in Verona, New Jersey.
— A group of developers has plans to open a new senior living community with just over 900 residential units in Gwinnett County, Georgia.
— The Hover Senior Living Facility in Longmont, Colorado, is adding room for 48 new residents and new skilled nursing services in four “cottage-style” buildings.
— Hawthorn Senior Living is planning to open an independent senior living community with 151 suites in Billerica, Massachusetts.
— A realty group has purchased a plot of land in Virginia Beach, Virginia, with the intention of building a 60-unit assisted living and memory care community operated by Bickford Senior Living.
— A 177-unit independent living and skilled nursing community is coming together in Greensboro, North Carolina.
— The Sagamore Springs Golf Course in Lynnfield, Massachusetts, will soon have company in the form of a 154-unit 55+ community.
