Work Underway for Las Vegas Independent Living Community

The Wolff Company has broken ground on Revel Las Vegas, according to a press release.

The community will have 132 independent living residences and amenities such as a fitness and yoga studio, a full-service salon, a spa, a putting green, an arts studio, a theater and a heated saltwater pool.

The development is expected to open in 2018.

Benchmark Senior Living Memory Care Community Opening in Massachusetts

Benchmark Senior Living plans to open a 50-apartment memory care community in Newton, Massachusetts.

The provider selected Erland Construction to manage construction for the project, which includes the 34,683-square-foot memory care community and major renovation work to an existing 19,914-square-foot, two-story building, according to a press release.

Architectural firm Bechtel Frank Erickson designed the community.

Planners Mulling New Senior Care Center in Wyoming

An architectural firm is hard at work designing a new senior care center in Jackson, Wyo. St. John’s Medical Center hired Anderson Mason Dale Architects to design the new center, according to Jackson Hole News and Guide, a local news website.

Planners with both organizations are currently determining the mix of long-term care, memory care, short-term rehab and hospice beds.

Memory Care Community in Wisconsin Set to Grow

The Azura Memory Care community in Eau Claire, Wisconsin, is plotting an expansion.

The community is seeking approval for a three-building project that would add space for 144 residents, reported the Leader-Telegram.

Local officials must approve a rezoning request for the project to move forward.

Ryan Companies Breaks Ground on Illinois Community

LCS, Harrison Street Real Estate Capital and Ryan Companies US have broken ground on a new senior living community in Naperville, Illinois.

The $45 million project, Clarendale of Addison, will consist of 188 units independent living assisted living and memory care units, according to a press release. Planned amenities include restaurant-style dining, a bistro, pub and billiards room, wellness center with fitness and therapy rooms, a salon, movie room, living rooms and a large community room.

The community is expected to open in the summer of 2019.

St. Louis Senior Housing Expansions to Include More Skilled Nursing

Friendship Village’s plans to spend $201 million on expansions at two St. Louis senior living communities could bring more skilled nursing care to the area.

As outlined, the expansion would include a 90-bed skilled nursing facility (SNF) with a rehab clinic and gym in the St. Louis suburb of Chesterfield, and a new 144-bed skilled nursing facility in Sunset Hills, according to the St. Louis Business Journal.

Work to Start Soon for Wisconsin Senior Living Community

Senior living developer Tukka Properties and Tealwood Senior Living are collaborating on a new senior living community in Cedarburg, Wisconsin.

The new $23 million community will have 82 units of independent and assisted living and an attached 28-unit memory care wing, according to a press release. Planned amenities include multiple dining spaces, a garden-themed activity space, theater, library and game room.

Architecture and construction firm Iconica is designing and building the community. Construction is slated to start the third week of December, with a planned opening date of spring, 2019.

Capitol Seniors Housing Breaks Ground on Property Near D.C.

Capitol Seniors Housing has started construction on Arbor Terrace Maple Lawn, an assisted living and memory care community in Fulton, Maryland, which is near Washington, D.C.

The $27.5 million, 73,000-square-foot community will have 86 apartments and resemble a boutique hotel from the outside, according to a press release. Baltimore-based BCT Architects is designing the community.

Arbor Terrace Maple Lawn is scheduled to open in the fourth quarter of 2018.

Construction Now Underway for Oregon Community

Pear Valley Senior Living has broken ground on a new senior living campus in Central Point, Oregon, according to a press release.

Compass Senior Living will operate the community, which will have 60 assisted living apartments and 24 memory care studios. Planned amenities include a fitness center, media and theater center, enclosed courtyards, a bistro with a computer area, Wi-Fi, and an onsite salon and barber shop.

Dustrud Architects designed the campus, and the project’s contractor is Essex Construction.

The community, Pear Valley, is expected to open in October, 2018.

10 New HRA Communities to Come Online Next Year

Harbor Retirement Associates (HRA), a regional senior living development and management company, will open two communities opening in the early part of 2018.

HarborChase of Mandarin in Jacksonville, Florida, and HarborChase of Long Grove, which is outside of Chicago, are both scheduled to open in January, according to a press release. Eight more HRA communities are scheduled to open later on in the year.

All 10 of the communities under construction will feature both assisted living and memory care services, while two of them will have room for independent living residents. The communities feature full-service dining, housekeeping and laundry services, 24-hour nursing care, and the provider’s signature Life Enrichment Program.

Construction Concluded for Capella Community in Colorado

Construction manager Pinkard Construction put the finishing touches on a new Capella Living Solutions community in Colorado Springs, Colorado, according to a press release.

The community, The Retreat at Sunny Vista, has 38 assisted living and 28 memory care apartments alongside amenities such as a therapy gym, full kitchen and dining room, community life gathering areas, three fireplaces, a secure courtyard with outdoor patios and fire pit, a sensory garden, exercise stairs and walking paths.

Other perks for residents include telehealth services, Soundwall music therapy and a hearing loop for residents who need added audio.

Lantz-Boggio Architects and Interior Designers designed the community.

— A forthcoming Wichita, Kansas, megachurch will include age-restricted housing.

— Trilogy Health Services is looking to expand one of its communities in Englewood, Ohio, by adding 15 one-story independent living duplexes.

— NorthPoint Development will transform an office building into a luxurious senior living community with 61 assisted living and 22 memory care suites.

— A developer in Lisbon, Wisconsin, has plans to build a mixed-use development with 240 units of senior living included.

— The Gatesworth, a senior living community in St. Louis, has added a new 102,000-square-foot building with 90 assisted living apartments.

— Asbury Place, a continuing care retirement community (CCRC) in Maryville, Tennessee, previewed its new memory care residences last week.
