Apartment Complex Near Orlando to Include Assisted Living and Memory Care

A luxurious apartment complex with an attached senior living community is in the works for Altamonte Springs, Florida.

The roughly 300-unit apartment complex, The Crane, will span about 584,000 square feet across two towers. Included in the campus is Cloudberry Lodge, a 110-unit assisted living and memory care community that will serve both the general public and residents of The Crane.

Plans for Cloudberry Lodge call for a three-story building with “state of the art design and amenities,” according to a press release.

Nine Wicket Senior Developers, which is an affiliate of the Mueller Development Group, is developing the project. Construction is currently slated to begin in the first quarter of 2018 and last about 22 months.

Mather Plots High-Rise Life Plan Community Near D.C.

Mather LifeWays is planning to build a 668,435-square-foot life plan community in Tysons, Virginia, which is just outside Washington, D.C., according to a report from the Washington Business Journal.

The community, which is expected to open in 2022, will consist of two towers—one that’s 18 stories tall and one that’s 27 stories tall—with 300 independent living units, 78 assisted living units, skilled nursing beds and memory support.

New York CCRC Could Double in Size

A land acquisition could boost the size of a CCRC campus in Lancaster, New York, to nearly double its size.

The GreenFields Continuing Care Community, which is operated by Niagara Lutheran Health System, is looking to purchase land nearby, reported to Buffalo Business First.

Potential plans could include new housing options or amenities for residents.

Senior Lifestyle Proposes Community Near Chicago

Senior Lifestyle has laid out its plans for a new senior living community in River Forest, Illinois.

As planned, the project could span five stories and include independent and assisted living units, reported the Chicago Tribune.

St. Louisans Fight Aberdeen Heights Expansion

A group of citizens in the St. Louis suburb of Kirkwood are battling the proposed expansion of the Aberdeen Heights senior living community.

The community, which was built in seven years ago, is owned by Presbyterian Manors of Mid-America. The owners want to add a multi-story apartment building to the 20-acre complex, but neighbors are calling it a “bait and switch” from an older proposal, reported St. Louis Public Radio.

Developer Plans Senior Living Community in Cleveland

A developer has set its sights on a roughly 27-acre plot of land in Cleveland.

Omni Property Cos. is seeking to build independent living houses and attached buildings for assisting living, memory care and independent-living residents, reported Cleveland.com.

Local officials must rezone the land for the project to move forward.

Work Underway for Active Adult Community Near Denver

Avenida Partners has begun construction of a new 230-unit rental community for active adults age 55 or older in the Denver metro area.

The community, Avenida Lakewood, is part of of the Oak Station Marketplace mixed-use development, according to a press release. Amenities include a great room, pub and game room, dog park, outdoor patio and barbecue grills, garden plots, shuffleboard area and access to walking trails.

MorningStar to Open Arizona Community

Co-developers MorningStar Senior Living and N-Shea Group have broken ground on a new senior living community in Glendale, Arizona.

The project, MorningStar of Glendale, will have 95 units for assisted living and memory care residents, according to a press release. For independent living residents, the community will have 38 “casitas.”

Planned amenities include a 24-hour bistro with a full bar, private dining room, fitness and wellness center, massage and therapy room, salon, library, theater and chapel, walking paths, and courtyards with resident gardening beds and outdoor dining patios.

The community is scheduled to open in late 2018, with an information center for the public opening in January.

Principal Senior Living Starts Work on Florida Community

The Principal Senior Living Group is now building a new assisted living community in Port Orange, Florida.

The community, Benton House, had an official ground breaking on Nov. 30, reported the Port Orange Observer. When it opens, Benton House will have 59 apartments and 14 memory care units.

Work Underway for Atria Community in Connecticut

Construction crews are now moving dirt for a new Atria Senior Living community in Ridgefield, Connecticut.

Atria Ridgefield, an 86-unit assisted living and memory care community, is due to open in the summer of 2019, reported the Ridgefield Press.

Charter Senior Living Breaks Ground for Ohio Community

Charter Senior Living is hard at work building a new community in Sylvania, Ohio.

The community, Garden Oaks of Sylvania, will include 24 assisted living suites and 36 memory care suites, according to a press release.

Work Underway for Mansions Senior Living Community in Georgia

Mansions Senior Living is bringing a 272-unit senior living community to Lawrenceville, Georgia.

The community will offer independent living, assisted living and memory care services, reported the Gwinnett Daily Post.

The community is expected to open in January of 2019.

Ryan Companies to Break Ground on $40 Million Community in Florida

Ryan Companies US is poised to start construction for a $40 million, 171-unit independent living, assisted living and memory care project in Jacksonville, Florida.

The community is slated to open in the spring of 2019, according to the Jacksonville Daily Record.

$105 Million Atria Community in Florida Set to Open First Phase

A new community from Atria Senior Living is welcoming its first wave of residents.

Residents are occupying a portion of 179 independent living apartments at the $105 million Atria at Villages of Windsor community in Lake Worth, Florida, according to a press release.

A memory care building with private gardens is also slated to open early this month. The community’s final phase, which includes Atria at Villages of Windsor’s 80 assisted living residences and the remaining independent living apartments, is slated to open by the year’s end.

Big Rock Partners, a real estate investment firm, and Ventas Inc. (NYSE: VTR), are partners on the project.

Arrow Opens Senior Living Community in Southwest Missouri

Arrow Senior Living has announced the grand opening of The Castlewood Senior Living, a 104-unit community in Nixa, Missouri.

The senior community has independent living, assisted living and memory care options for residents. Amenities for residents at the pet-friendly community include all-day dining, a full-service beauty salon, fitness center, movie theater, indoor pool, transportation and a wide range of activities.

The Castlewood was developed by O’Reilly Development Company.

Erickson Community in New Jersey Unveils New Independent Living Units

Lantern Hill, an Erickson Living retirement community in New Providence, New Jersey, has opened Maple Glen, the first independent living residential building completed as part of the community’s phase two construction.

The new homes range in size from one- to two-bedroom domiciles and feature stainless steel kitchen appliances, granite countertops, crown molding, wood cabinetry, and wood flooring.

The community’s second residential building, Oakwood Court, is slated to open in February, 2018. That construction phasewill add 114 independent living apartment homes, for a total of 275 independent living apartment homes at the community.

Artis Opens Pennsylvania Memory Care Community 

Artis Senior Living has opened a 64-unit memory care community in Lemoyne, Pennsylvania.

The community includes four distinct neighborhoods with 16 resident rooms and a amenities like studios for gatherings or life enrichment, a health center and a beauty salon and barber shop, according to Penn Live.

LifeWell Community to Open in Santa Fe

An opening is imminent for a new LifeWell Senior Living community in Santa Fe, New Mexico.

The community, Legacy at Santa Fe, has room for 106 independent living, assisted living and memory care residents, according to the Santa Fe New Mexican.

New York Community to Open Soon

Village Walk Senior Living is scheduled to move in residents on Jan. 11, reported Greater Patchogue.

The community will have 128 apartments for assisted living and memory care, and will also include around-the-clock nursing care.

Brightview to Open Communtiy in Massachusetts 

A new Brightview Senior Living has finished construction in time for residents to move in this month.

The new community has 130 apartments for independent living, assisted living and memory care residents, reported Wicked Local.
