New Jersey Community Plotting $38 Million Expansion and Renovation

Harrogate, a Life Care Services community in Lakewood, New Jersey, has announced plans to start a $38 million expansion and renovation project.

The project, expected to break ground in late 2018 or early 2019, will include 31 new independent living apartments and 48 new assisted living and memory care apartments, according to a press release.

The renovations will also bring nearly 30,000 square feet of new or redesigned common areas, dining and entertainment options, a cocktail lounge and other upgrades.

Resort-Style Community Coming Together in Arizona

LCS, Harrison Street Real Estate Capital and Ryan Companies U.S. have announced the start of construction for Clarendale of Chandler, a 262,000 square-foot senior living community that will offer independent living, assisted living and memory care in Chandler, Arizona.

The resort-style community will have 116 independent living, 64 assisted living, 38 memory care units along with 14 one-story duplex villas, according to a press release. Planned amenities include a bistro, outdoor dining, pool courtyard with locker rooms, strength and fitness rooms, theater, salon, on-site medical care, a community room and a pub with billiards.

Clarendale of Chandler is slated to open in the spring of 2019.

Kensington Eyes Virginia for New Senior Housing

Kensington Development plans to build a 91-unit assisted living community in Reston, Virginia.

The community would span 7,600 square feet and replace a school, reported RestonNow.com.

Assisted Living, Memory Care Community Planned in California

A 114-unit assisted living and memory care community is in the works for San Jose, California.

Chronograph Properties and Swenson are the two developers behind the projected, according to the Mercury News. Local officials must approve the project for it to move forward.

New York Hotel to Become Senior Living Community

A hotel in Guilderland, New York, is slated to become a 200-unit assisted living community.

Albany Place Development, an entity formed by Promenade Senior Living, recently bought the property for $12.3 million, according to the Albany Business Review. Promenade plans to convert the hotel into an assisted living community with memory care units.

Plan for Connecticut CCRC Gets Green Light

Local officials have approved a plan from Keystone Senior to build a 139-unit continuing care retirement community (CCRC) in Danbury, Connecticut.

Construction on the project is slated to begin in March after demolition crews raze an abandoned house, shed and garage on the property, according to Westfair Communications.

Senior Lifestyle Breaks Ground on Florida Community

Senior Lifestyle Corporation on Nov. 30 hosted a groundbreaking ceremony of one of its newest planned communities, The Sheridan at Hobe Sound in Hobe Sound, Florida.

The Sheridan at Hobe Sound is scheduled to open in early 2019 and have 85 assisted living apartment homes and 40 memory care residences, according to a press release. Amenities include a studio, bocce ball court, putting green and an outdoor patio for dining.

The project is a joint venture between Senior Lifestyle Corporation and CA Senior Living, the senior housing investment and development division of Chicago’s CA Ventures.

Non-profit Provider Starts $26 Million Construction Campaign in Michigan

United Methodist Retirement Communities held a Nov. 28 groundbreaking ceremony to kick off a sizable construction project at its Chelsea Retirement Community campus in Chelsea, Michigan.

As part of the project, the faith-based organization is planning to add private rooms and bathrooms for residents, an indoor pool, walking track and launch a number of other initiatives, according to a press release.

Construction Underway for Wisconsin Community

Work has begun for a new assisted living community in Eau Claire, Wisconsin.

The Consolidated Construction Company is building the 60-bed project for Care Partners Assisted Living, reported WQOW.com. The community will also have a memory care wing.

Construction on the new community began in October and is scheduled to wrap up in July, 2018.

United Hebrew Completes Renovations at Assisted Living Community in New York

United Hebrew recently completed a top-to-bottom renovation of its Willow Towers Assisted Living community in New Rochelle, New York.

The makeover included a new beauty salon, an enhanced nursing care station, a new private room for the social gatherings, fresh paint and carpeting, new LED light fixtures throughout the building and expanded program space in its Phoenix Memory Care wing, according to a press release.

Minnesota Community Welcomes Residents

Saint Therese, a non-profit Catholic senior living provider, welcomed residents into 64 new senior apartments at its community in Woodbury, Minnesota, according to a press release.

Saint Therese has five senior communities throughout the Twin Cities area.

Kansas CCRC Completes Renovations

Lakeview Village, a CCRC in Lenexa, Kansas, has put the finishing touches on nearly $250,000 worth of renovations.

The work included a newly renovated dining room and lower level community spaces, reported the Shawnee Mission Post.

Maine Life Care Community Unveils $14 Million Expansion

Piper Shores has put the finishing touches on a $14 million expansion project at its campus in Scarborough, Maine.

The addition spans roughly 43,000-square-foot and includes 16 assisted living and 14 memory support units, according to the Press Herald.

Lantern Crest Adds Villas to California Community

Lantern Crest Senior Living added new villas to its campus in Santee, California, reported the East County Californian.

The new villas come with two bedrooms, two bathrooms and one- or two-car garages.
