Upscale Senior Living Community to Open Near Emory

A new upscale senior living community is planned to open near Atlanta’s Emory University in 2019.

The Holbrook Decatur will cost $74 million and have 71 apartments for people in the “active 50-plus” demographic, according to Decaturish.com, a local news site.

Amenities will reportedly include filtered air and mineral water, UV lighting, wine bars and coffee bistros. The Holbrook is one of four planned senior living communities opening under that name in Atlanta.

CCRC in Oregon to Expand

Capital Manor, an continuing care retirement community (CCRC) in Salem, Oregon, is poised to grow.

The community will add 34 new craftsman-style independent villas as part of a multi-phase expansion project, reported Statesman Journal. Planned amenities include gas fireplaces, garages and separate utility rooms.

Developer Eyes Wisconsin City for Senior Housing Project

Developer Bear Development is seeking to build 84 senior housing units and 16 townhomes for seniors who desire independent living services in Kenosha, Wisconsin.

Local officials must approve the project for it to move forward, reported Kenosha News.

Independent Living Planned Near San Jose

An independent living community with 200 condos for seniors is in the works for Hayward, California.

Local officials gave the preliminary go-ahead to Pristine Homes and Paranjape Schemes to build three four-story senior living buildings, according to the East Bay Times.

The companies must present their proposal to the city council in December.

Provision Breaks Ground on Michigan Community

Construction is now underway for a new Provision Living community in Grand Rapids, Michigan.

The community will have room for over 100 residents and include amenities such as a salon, exercise room and a movie theater, reported Fox 17. The community is slated to open in 2019.

Construction Begins for Senior Lifestyle Corporation Community in Illinois

Senior Lifestyle Corporation announced it broke ground on one of its newest communities, The Sheridan at Park Ridge.

The community, which will be located in Park Ridge, Illinois, is scheduled to open in late 2018 with 64 assisted living apartment homes and 36 memory care residences, according to a press release.

Amenities will include multi-purpose rooms, a physical therapy center, creative studio and an indoor sun porch.

Civitas Breaks Ground on Project in Texas

Work is underway for a new Civitas Senior Living community in Midlothian, Texas.

Midtowne Assisted Living will have 45 assisted living, 102 independent living, and 18 memory care units, according to the Waxahachietx Daily Light, a local news publication.

Construction for the project is expected to wrap up in 2019.

Maplewood Unveils $8 Million Renovations at Massachusetts CCRC 

Maplewood Senior Living has put the finishing touches on roughly $8 million worth of renovations at its Mayflower Place community in West Yarmouth, Massachusetts.

The renovations include a new exterior, grand entryway, lobby, library, bistro and pub, stone fireplaces, salon and spa, and chapel, according to CapeCod.com.

California Community to Celebrate Completion of $22.5 Million Remodeling

Emerald Court, a Kisco Senior Living community in Anaheim, California, is commemorating the completion of its $22.5 million expansion and renovation project with a ribbon-cutting and grand opening celebration on Nov. 30.

The expansion included a new two-story building with 58 assisted living residences, a demonstration kitchen and dining venue, and a wellness center lined with windows to overlook the courtyard, according to a press release.

The expansion physically connected with the existing building and adds additional space to the courtyard. As part of the project, renovations were made to the main dining room, as well as corridors, lighting, the activity room and the salon of the existing building.
