Dominion to Renovate Former Rehab Center in Kentucky

Dominion Senior Living is poised to start work on a 42,000-square-foot, $5 million faith-based assisted living and memory care community in Louisville, Kentucky.

Dominion recently purchased the former Glenview Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center with plans to renovate the inside of the one-story building to include 41 assisted living and 20 memory care apartments, according to a press release.

The community, Dominion Senior Living at Northfield, will have amenities such as dining rooms, workout facilities, indoor and outdoor courtyards with picnic areas, games and gardens and a salon.

Artis Planning Senior Housing Near Chicago

Artis Senior Living has plans to open a three-story, 64-unit senior living community in Wilmette, Illinois, which is just north of Chicago.

Local officials recently gave the project the preliminary go-ahead, reported the Chicago Tribune.

$29 Million Senior Living Community Proposed in Indiana 

A developer has plans to build a $29 million senior living community in Fishers, Indiana.

Hubbard Development has proposed building patio homes and an assisted living community on a 19-acre property in the city, according to the Indianapolis Business Journal.

Local officials must approve the plan for it to move forward.

Ecumen Property Planned on Land Owned by Oklahoma Radio Station

Senior living provider Ecumen is planning to purchase land owned by a church and AM radio station in Stillwater, Oklahoma, to build a $30 million community.

As planned, the project includes 71 independent-living units, 35 assisted living units and 36 memory care units, reported the Twin Cities Pioneer Press.

Cedarhurst to Manage Missouri Community

Dover Development, Kadean Construction and Cedarhurst Senior Living are teaming up to build Cedarhurst of Blue Springs, a senior care facility in Blue Springs, Missouri.

Plans call for the construction of a $9 million community with 49 assisted living and 20 memory care apartments, according to the Lee’s Summit Tribune.

Local Officials Bless Capri Community in Wisconsin

A new Capri Senior Communities project got the green light from local officials in Menomonee Falls, Wisconsin.

The development as planned will include 153 independent living units, 48 assisted living units and 27 memory care units, according to the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel. The community is currently slated to open in 2019.

Assisted Living and Memory Care Project Planned for Indiana

A new assisted living and memory care community is in the works for Noblesville, Indiana.

Leaders with Gardant Management Company on Nov. 16 helped break ground on the four-story, 105,000 square-foot building, according to a press release. Plans for Heritage Woods of Noblesville call for 124 private studio and one-bedroom apartments.

Each of the community’s assisted living apartments will have a kitchenette, bathroom with shower and grab bars, individually controlled heating and air conditioning units and an emergency alert system. Community-wide amenities at Heritage Woods include a community room, private dining, sun rooms, walking paths, a library, computer lounge and an onsite general store.

On the memory care side, residents will have access to a hobby hut with several activity areas and living room lounges, a salon, covered patio areas, fireplaces and a cafe.

Construction Underway for Assisted Living and Memory Care Development in Georgia

Senior living provider Brickmont Assisted Living has broken ground on a new 137-bed assisted living and memory care community in Acworth, Georgia, according to a press release.

Residential units will include kitchenettes and residents will have access to a variety of amenities.

Spectrum Retirement Breaks Ground on Chicago-area Community

Spectrum Retirement’s Managing Director, Jeff Kraus, and Palos Heights, Illinois, Mayor Robert Straz broke ground this week on Palos Heights Senior Living, a community just outside of Chicago.

The community, which is scheduled to open in 2019, will have 178 independent living, assisted living and memory care residences, according to a press release.

Palos Heights Senior Living will be the Spectrum’s seventh community in the Chicago area.

Workers Move Dirt for Independent Living Project in Reno

Construction is underway for a new independent living community at a master-planned neighborhood in Reno, Nevada.

The Wolff Company announced it started construction on Revel Rancharrah, a new independent living apartment community within Reno’s Rancharrah master-planned community. The development, slated for completion in 2018, will have 146 studio, one- and two-bedroom independent living residences.

Amenities include a fitness studio, spa, multi-function event space, an indoor pool and an art studio. The community will also have a modern-American restaurant and a pub with seasonal menus from chef and Food Network star, Beau MacMillan.

Starling to Manage Senior Housing Project in Florida

Starling Senior Living will operate a forthcoming independent living community in Nocatee, Florida.

LandSouth Construction, a general contractor specializing in senior housing, multifamily and mixed-use development, has started work for the Starling at Nocatee Independent Living community, according to a press release.

Plans call for 140 apartment homes with high-end finishes including stainless steel appliances and full-size refrigerators, tile showers, stone countertops and decorative cabinets.

The community will focus on the active 55+ market. Residents who move in will have access to resort-style amenities such as restaurant-style dining at multiple venues, a spa, salon and fitness studio, art studio, internet cafe, theater, and billiard and card room.

Senior Lifestyle Corporation Looks to Open Pennsylvania Location Next Fall

Senior Lifestyle Corporation has broken ground on communities, The Sheridan at Bethel Park, a forthcoming community in Bethel Park, Pennsylvania.

The Sheridan at Bethel Park is scheduled to open in fall 2018 and will feature 79 assisted-living apartment homes, as well as 34 memory care residences, according to a press release.

Amenities will include a creative studio, physical therapy center and serenity room. Residents can also explore a memory care tranquility garden and outdoor terrace with views of the landscaped courtyard and driving range.

Belmont Village Breaks Ground on Chicago Community

Belmont Village Senior Living is now building a new location in the Chicago neighborhood of Lincoln Park.

The community will have 149 units for assisted living and memory care residents, according to Illinois Business Daily.

Alabama CCRC Unveils $42.5 Million Expansion

Fair Haven, a continuing care retirement community (CCRC) in Birmingham, Alabama, has unveiled some new digs.

The Methodist Homes of Alabama & Northwest Florida community added 15 new independent living and 23 new assisted living apartment homes, according to a press release.

The project also included changes and upgrades for common areas, including a new beauty parlor and barber salon, gift shop and a grand living room with fireplace.

Epoch Opens Community in Connecticut

Epoch Senior Living on Nov. 9 celebrated the opening of a 65-unit memory care and assisted living community in Norwalk, Connecticut, according to a press release.

Amenities include a salon, chef-prepared meals, private bathrooms in each suite and personal laundry and linen services.

The community is a joint collaboration between Epoch and National Development, a real estate and investment firm with senior housing expertise.

Now Open: Dominion Senior Living of Richmond, Kentucky

Dominion Senior Living recently held a grand opening celebration for a new personal care and memory care community, in Richmond, Kentucky.

The $8 million community, Dominion Senior Living of Richmond, has 60 apartments for personal care and memory care residents.

Residents have access to services such as laundry service, transportation services, three home-style meals a day, Wi-Fi, 24-7 surveillance monitoring, personalized care services, life enrichment programs, on-site medical assistance and therapy services.

Wellbrook Adds Memory Care Units in California

Welbrook Senior Living has finished construction and licensing of a new memory care community in Santa Monica, California.

The community has 50 units designed in conjunction with the company’s Welbrook Moments memory care program.

For construction of the new community, Welbrook partnered with Urban Green Investments, a fully integrated real estate investment and development firm.

Sunrise Opens San Francisco Community

Sunrise Senior Living in October welcomed the first residents to its newest community, Sunrise of Pleasanton, California.

The new 83-unit community offers assisted living and evidence-based memory care programming, according to a press release.

The opening marks Sunrise’s 19th community in the San Francisco area.

Baltimore Community Unveils Outdoor Venue

Oak Crest, an Erickson Living retirement community, officially opened a new outdoor venue during a ribbon cutting ceremony held on Oct. 27, according to a press release.

Named Friendship Park, the 25,000 square-foot area has three putting greens, two bocce courts, a walking trail and an exercise court for residents, family members and employees. Friendship Park’s completion is just one phase of a repositioning project set to include the opening of a new fitness later this year. Plans also call for an aquatics center, indoor bistro and al fresco dining in 2018.

Hord, Coplan Macht, Inc. served as the project’s lead architect, and the Whiting-Turner Contracting Company was the prime contractor with support from JFW, Inc. Project Management and LSG Landscaping Architecture.

Chicago Area Gets New Senior Living Community

A new 170-unit independent living, assisted living and memory care community is now open in Oak Crest, Illinois.

Residents of Green Oaks Senior Living have access to amenities such as a walking trail, landscaping, fountain, fishing pier, putting green, salons, a library, movie theaters and a large sky deck, according to a press release from Weis Builders.
