Senior Living Community Planned in South Carolina

Cardinal Ventures is developing an 88,000-square-foot assisted living and memory care community within the Baxter Village master-planned community in Fort Mill, South Carolina, according to a press release. The forthcoming community, The Blake at Baxter Village, will have 68 assisted living units, 33 memory care units, and between four and eight independent living townhomes.

Blake Management Group will operate the community. Groundbreaking for The Blake at Baxter Village is scheduled for early 2018.

Sunrise, Brightview to Operate Communities in Connecticut

Sunrise Senior Living and Brightview Senior Living will operate two announced communities in Connecticut.

Sunrise is slated to operate a 90-unit assisted living and memory care community in Wilton, Connecticut, according to a press release. Avison Young Principal Sean McDonnell and Senior Associate Alison Luisi helped arrange the $5 million sale for the 3.81-acre site.

In Shelton, Connecticut, operator Brightview Senior Living is on the books to manage a new community with 160 units of assisted living, memory care and independent living. Avsion’s Sean Cahill and Luisi arranged the $3.79 million sale of the 8-acre site.

Sagora Senior Living to Expand Texas Community

Sagora Senior Living is adding memory care units to its independent living and assisted living community in Lyndale-Abilene, Texas, according to a press release.

The expansion will include 64 memory care apartments, two interior courtyards with covered seating and a “main street” concept for common space areas. The indoor town center in the main gathering area will include streetscapes depicting a village barber shop and salon, a movie theater, a cafe and a piano parlor.

Construction will be led by The Covenant Group’s CGI Construction of Fort Worth. The construction period will last about a year and wrap up in 2018.

Sunrise to Manage Assisted Living Community in Massachusetts

A new community is coming to Newton Corner, Massachusetts, and Sunrise Senior Living will manage it.

The assisted living community will have 85 living units with a total of 112 beds, according to Wicked Local Newton, a local news site.

Local officials recently gave the project the go-ahead.

Sprawling Senior Living Planned for Denver

Denver’s MGL Partners is developing a 173,000-square-foot senior living community called The Carillon at Belleview Station.

The six-story community’s plans include a salon and spa, fitness center and 163 assisted living and independent apartments, reported the Denver Business Journal. The community will also have a 1,500-square-foot “sky lounge” on the top floor with a bar, televisions and an outdoor terrace.

Seattle-based Leisure Care will operate the community.

Memory Care Planned in Pennsylvania

JEA Senior Living has proposed a 35,000-square-foot, one-story, 66-bed memory care community in Upper Dublin, Pennsylvania, according to the Ambler Gazette.

Local officials must approve the project for it to move forward.

Nursing Home Plans Switch to Assisted Living

A nursing home in Middleton, Wisconsin, is converting its 44 beds from skilled nursing to assisted living.

Attic Angel Place will stop taking Medicare payments for its skilled nursing care on Dec. 1, reported the Chippewa Herald. The switch may be part of a larger a nationwide trend of converting skilled nursing beds to assisted living.

Primrose to Open Community in Arkansas

Primrose Retirement Communities is holding a Nov. 2 grand opening to celebrate the opening of its Primrose Retirement Community of Rogers community in Rogers, Arkansas.

The community has 50 assisted living apartments, 24 townhome villas and 24 memory care apartments, according to a press release. Amenities include a wellness center, pub, chapel, business center and movie theater.

The project was financed by Bear State Bank and is owned and operated by Primrose.

Epoch Opens Community in Massachusetts

Epoch Senior Living on Oct. 26 celebrated the opening of a 48-unit memory care and assisted living community in Pembroke, Massachusetts.

The community is a joint collaboration between Epoch and National Development, a real estate and investment firm with senior housing expertise.

Memory Care Community Arrives in New York

A 68-bed memory care community has opened in Colonie, New York.

Peregrine Senior Living of Colonie has amenities such as courtyards, a pond garden, a vintage dress shop and a model train room, according to Times Union.
