Senior Housing Planned Near Lake of the Ozarks in Missouri

A sprawling development slated to open in the lakefront city of Osage Beach, Missouri, will include senior housing.

Local officials recently gave the go-ahead to the developers of Osage Beach Commons, a $385 million mixed-use building that will include retail, restaurants and senior living space, according to Lake Expo, a local new website.

They also reportedly approved plans for Arrowhead Centre, a $385 million project that will have a skilled nursing facility, an assisted living community, a restaurant, an indoor sports facility, a hotel and winery, and space for retail.

Maryland CCRC to Expand After Winning Approval

A continuing care retirement community (CCRC) in Cockeysville, Maryland, is preparing to expand.

The Maryland Department of Aging recently approved Broadmead’s plan to expand the community’s independent living, assisted living and comprehensive care offerings, according to a press release.

As planned, the expansion would add 52 new independent living homes. Broadmead estimates that construction could begin as early as the fall of 2018.

Plans for Community Near Los Angeles Take Shape

A new community could soon bring 400 units of assisted living and independent living to Redondo Beach, California.

The developers of the Beach Cities Health District will soon officially unveil plans for the 11-acre campus, according to The Beach Reporter. Their goal is to redevelop the site into a “hub of wellness” meant to serve the area’s growing population of older adults.

Colorado Community Moves Forward With Redesign Plans

OZ Architecture has begun planning for two new redevelopment phases for the Eben Ezer Lutheran Care Center, located in Brush, Colorado. The planning marks the next step in the 10-step master plan for redesigning the 100-year old care center.

Phase two involves designing a new short-term rehab and long-term skilled care facility, with the addition of two wings of 14 beds each, according to a press release. The redevelopment will also include an “amenity node” with a living room, a dining room, a country serving kitchen and a physical therapy gym.

Construction is slated to be completed in phases, with the second phase slated to be completed in the first quarter of 2019; phase three in the first quarter of 2020; and phase four in the first quarter of 2021.

Cedarhurst Spending $25 Million to Open Three Illinois Communities

Cedarhurst Living is expanding with three new communities in the Prairie State.

The provider is investing $25 million in communities in Columbia, Jerseyville and Carlinville, Illinois.

Both Cedarhurst of Columbia and Cedarhurst of Jerseyville will have 48 assisted living apartments and 21 memory care apartments, according to local news site RiverBender.com. Cedarhurst of Carlinville will have 21 memory care apartments.

All three communities are being developed by Dover Development and constructed by Brahms Construction. Work is expected to begin in the next six months.

Groundbreaking Set for Senior Living Community in South Carolina

LIV Development is developing a new senior living community in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.

The community, called Portside at Grande Dunes, is planned to include 275 apartments for assisted living, memory care and independent or cottage-style living. The community will be located near the center of Grande Dunes, a forthcoming master-planned community developed by LStar Ventures.

Frontier Management will manage the property. Dallas-based PRDG is the project’s architect and studiosix5 in Austin, Texas, is the interior designer.

Portside at Grande Dunes is scheduled to break ground in October, with the first residents moving in next fall.

Primrose to Break Ground on Michigan Community

South Dakota’s Primrose Retirement Communities has announced plans to begin construction on a 102-unit community in Midland, Michigan, that will include independent living, assisted living and memory care apartments.

Primrose plans to hold the groundbreaking ceremony on Oct. 5. The community, which is slated to be built by Wolgast Corporation and is being financed by CorTrust Bank, is expected to open in late 2019.

$27 Million Assisted Living Community to Open in New York

The Town of Brookhaven Industrial Development Agency recently approved a package of economic incentives for the development of a $27 million assisted living and memory care community in Farmingville, New York.

The 118-bed project will consist of two buildings and span nearly 100,000 square feet, according to a press release.

Yaphank AVR Boulevard Chelsea, which is jointly owned by AVR Realty and Chelsea Senior Living, is the company behind the project.

Belmont Village Announces Groundbreaking for Chicago Community

Belmont Village Senior Living has announced the groundbreaking of its new community in the Chicago neighborhood of Lincoln Park.

When it opens in 2019, Belmont Village Lincoln Park will span about 120,500 square feet and have 149 units of assisted living and memory care.

This is Belmont’s first project in the Chicago metro area.

Construction Underway for Assisted Living Community Near Cleveland

Workers recently broke ground on the Brooklyn Pointe Assisted Living Facility, an 80-unit community in the Cleveland suburb of Brooklyn, Ohio.

The community will also have memory care services available for residents, reports Cleveland.com.

Work Starts for Faith-Based Community in Ohio

Construction crews with faith-based nonprofit Village of St. Edward recently broke ground on a new 106-unit senior living community in Wadsworth, Ohio.

The community, Village of St. Edward at Wadsworth, will offer independent living, assisted living and memory care services, according to the Catholic Diocese of Cleveland. The new community is scheduled to open in the fall of 2018.

Choctaw Nation Breaks Ground on Oklahoma Community

Work is now underway for the Choctaw Nation Independent Elder Living Community in Broken Bow, Oklahoma.

The Choctaw Nation Housing Authority is constructing 10 new residences for local Choctaw seniors, reports the Durant Daily Democrat. Each residence will have a bedroom, living room, utility room, bath, dining room, and a kitchen with appliances.

Dominion Holds Grand Opening for Tennessee Community

Dominion Senior Living recently celebrated the grand opening of its new assisted living and memory care community in Athens, Tennessee.

The $8 million community, Dominion Senior Living of Athens, features room for 84 residents, according to a press release.

Woodlands Opens Memory Care Community in Maine

Woodlands Senior Living has opened a new memory care community in Farmington, Maine.

The community, Woodlands Memory Care of Farmington, has the capacity for 36 residents in fully furnished private and shared bedrooms with private bathrooms, reports Central Maine. The community is expected to expand with more assisted living and private residence apartments in the fall of 2018.

Resort-Style Independent Living Opens in New York

A luxurious independent living community has opened its doors in Manilus, New York.

The new community from Resort Lifestyle Communities has 128 units of one-, two- and three- bedroom apartments, according to local news site Eagle News. Amenities include a salon and barber, banking services, a pharmacy and gift shop, a library and a billiards room.

Jewish Senior Life Opens Green House Cottages in New York

Residents are now moving in to the new Jewish Senior Life green house cottages in Rochester, New York.

The cottages, which follow the Green House model, will house 106 residents, reports the Rochester Business Journal.
