Tennessee CCRC Announces Affiliation With United Church Homes

Uplands Village, a continuing care retirement community (CCRC) in Pleasant Hill, Tennessee, announced a new affiliation with United Church Homes (UHC), a Marion, Ohio-based national provider of senior living services. UHC’s management services company, United Church Homes Management (UCHM), will also take over management of Uplands Village.

Uplands Village’s board of directors signed a three-year management agreement with UCHM on August 18, which states that UCHM will assume management of the community, provide support to its governing board, and the community’s executive director, nursing home administrator and controller will be employees of UCHM. The agreement begins on October 1 and continues through September 30, 2020.

Uplands Village is entering into this contract to receive assistance from UCHM to remain competitive in the shifting regulatory and operational environment, a press release from the community states.

Uplands Village, established in 1956, is an ecumenical, nonprofit CCRC that provides independent living, assisted living, skilled nursing, memory care and long-term care services to 275 residents on a 500-acre campus.

United Church Homes is a nonprofit, faith-based organization that serves 4,500 residents in 70 senior living communities throughout 14 states and two Native American nations.

Transforming Age Announces Affiliation with In-Home Care Provider

Nonprofit senior housing provider Transforming Age announced an affiliation with Full Life Care, a Seattle-based, nonprofit in-home care provider.

“The need has never been greater to find innovative ways to help older adults live independently in their own communities, through both adult day services and in-home care,” said Nora Gibson, Full Life Care executive director, in a press release. “Affiliating with an organization like Transforming Age that shares so many of the same values allows us to expand our reach, and better helps us to make strategic decisions about the future of our organization and the families we serve.”

The two companies will continue to operate as individual 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations and the new relationship will function under the Transforming Age board.

DiNapoli Capital Partners Chooses Integral Senior Living As Operator

DiNapoli Capital Partners, a privately held real estate investment firm based in Walnut Creek, California, has selected Carlsbad, California-based Integral Senior Living to operate its Sunnycrest Senior Living independent and assisted living community in the Los Angeles suburb of Fullerton.

Sunnycrest has 130 units and the apartments and common areas were recently remodeled.

This marks the third partnership in California between DiNapoli and Integral Senior Living, which currently manages 60 senior living communities across 19 states, according to a release from Integral.

North Carolina Assisted Living Community Sells for $15 Million

Ardenwoods, an assisted living community in Arden, North Carolina, was sold for $15 million to a group led by David Ammons, the owner of Retirement Living Associates, a real estate development company based in Raleigh, North Carolina.

The property, which has been open since 2002 with 96 apartments and 48 assisted living spaces, was deeded to Arden Retirement, LLC, a limited liability corporation registered to Ammons, the Citizen-Times reports.

Ardenwoods sits on nearly 30 acres of land and Ammons is already brainstorming possible expansion options for the community.

American House Senior Living Communities Acquires Florida Independent Living Property

American House Senior Living Communities, a Bloomfield Hills, Michigan-based senior living provider with communities in Florida, Illinois and Michigan, has acquired ownership of a community that it has been managing since March 2017.

American House Wildwood, previously known as Providence Independence at Wildwood, in Wildwood, Florida, has 173 independent living apartments, including studio, one- and two-bedroom units. The community also features an outdoor heated exercise pool and spa, a putting green, a shuffleboard court, a fully-equipped business center, card and billiard rooms, a full-service bar and restaurant, an upscale fitness facility, and private physical therapy rooms.

Since taking over management of the community, American House has added private duty personal care services through Allegiance Home Care Services, Inc., a Thornton, Colorado-based home care provider.
