Bumstead Continues Service on Brookdale Senior Living Board
The board of directors of Brentwood, Tennessee-based Brookdale Senior Living will allow board member Frank M. Bumstead to continue his service, despite the board’s age restriction, according to the Nashville Post.
Bumstead turned 75 in the past year, which would otherwise disqualify him from serving. His fellow directors, however, felt that Bumstead’s contributions to the board, industry experience and knowledge of the senior housing industry created an exception to the rule.
Pending shareholder approval at Brookdale’s annual meeting next month, Bumstead will continue to serve until the company’s 2020 annual meeting.
Bumstead joined Brookdale’s board of directors in 2006 when the company purchased American Retirement Corp., where Bumstead had been a director for 11 years.
