Independent Living Building Planned in Hingham, Massachusetts
Erickson Senior Living is planning a new independent living community in Hingham, Massachusetts. The 156,378-square-foot, seven-story building will add 104 independent living homes to the already-established Linden Ponds.
Willard Square will also feature additional common areas for residents.
The building, Willard Square, is expected to open in early 2018 and is being built by Cutler Associates.

Senior Living Community to Open in North Carolina in Early 2018
Located in Raleigh, North Carolina, Waltonwood Lake Boone is scheduled to open in the first quarter of 2018 and will serve over 200 residents in independent living, assisted living and memory care.
There will be 121 independent living units, 39 assisted living units and 23 memory care apartments in the $50 million community. Apartments will range in size from studios to two-bedrooms.
Residents will be able to enjoy amenities including restaurant-style dining, common areas, a movie theater, billiards, a game room, cafe, fitness center, along, dog park, landscaped courtyards and laundry services.
Singh Development is developing the community that is being built on six acres of land. The company will also manage and own the community.
Second Phase of Construction Underway at Dallas Community
The Senior Quality Lifestyles Corporation (SQLC) retirement community Edgemere, located in Dallas, is moving into the second phase of construction on a $36 million expansion and renovation project. This phase will focus on building 35 additional apartment homes in the premier health services neighborhood.
The additions will also include eight new assisted living apartment homes, 12 new memory support suites and 15 new skilled nursing private suites. Common areas will also get a facelift, which will include indoor/outdoor courtyards and renovated dining areas. An underground parking garage will also be added.
When the project is complete it will have added 75,000 square feet to the community. The community is a nonprofit senior living community sponsored by SQLC.
Ground Broken on $95 Million Resort-Style Senior Community in Florida
In Fort Myers, Florida, construction has begun on Avida Senior Living, a resort-style community that will include assisted living, independent living and memory care.
The community is being built on 32 acres of land and will feature 125 assisted living apartments, 35 memory care apartments, 272 independent living apartments and 28 cottage-style residences.
Amenities on the 488,265-square-foot campus will include a bar bistro, private theater, dining hall, pools, spa and four open-air courtyards.
StudioSIX5 is designing the community, DeAngelis Diamond is the construction manager and Quadrum is the developer. Avida Senior Living will be complete in fall 2018.
Former Farm in Maryland To Become CCRC
Located in Harford County, Maryland, Carsins Run at Eva Mar is expected to begin construction in the coming weeks. The continuing care retirement community (CCRC) will have 514 units providing the full continuum of care.
The community is being built on former farm land and is expected to begin moving residents in in 2020. There are already 30 units under reserve, according to The Baltimore Sun.
Presbyterian Home of Maryland is developing the CCRC.

New Spectrum Community Now Open in Powell, Ohio
Powell Senior Living by Spectrum Retirement Communities is now open in Powell, Ohio. The 131,000-square-foot community has 126 independent living units ranging in size from 400 to 1,244 square feet.
Amenities at Powell Senior Living include a theater, library, greenhouse, spa and fitness center.
Spectrum will also open two communities later this year in Gahanna an Pickerington, Ohio.
Assisted Living, Memory Care Community Opens in Illinois
In Peoria, Illinois, McShane Construction Company has completed construction on a 108-unit assisted living and memory care residence.
Heartis Village Peoria is 97,000 square feet and includes a separate 36-unit memory care building as well as a three-story residential building offering 72 assisted living apartments.
The memory care unit includes studio apartments around a central common area. Amenities for memory care residents include multiple therapy rooms, an activities center, sun room, salon and secured outdoor area.
The assisted living building has units ranging in size from studio apartments to two-bedroom apartments. Residents will be able to enjoy numerous interior and exterior gathering spaces, a dining room with a commercial kitchen, library, computer room, bistro bar and a salon.
The community is operated by Pathway Senior Living and Caddis’ Heartis was the developer.
