Groundbreaking for $120 Million Senior High-Rise Planned

Come April, construction will begin on a $120 million senior community, Ventana, near NorthPark Center in Dallas, Texas. The project will consist of two 12-story towers developed by Buckner Senior Living.

The community, which has been in the planning stages since 2014, will contain almost 200 units for seniors.

Ventana will be operated by Buckner Retirement Services. The project was designed by D2 Architecture and Whiting-Turner is the general contractor.

Erickson Living Community Expansion Underway

In New Providence, New Jersey, Erickson Living is working on Phase II of an expansion project at Lantern Hill. Currently the community has 161 units of independent living.

The expansion will include 114 more independent living units in two new buildings. The new buildings are planned to open in early 2018.

Looking toward the future, Erickson plans to add even more units to eventually have a grand total of 360 units and upgrade the community to be a continuing care retirement community (CCRC).

Independent Living Community To Be Finished This Year

Fairfield Village Senior Apartments, located in Fairfield, Ohio, is set to be complete in the fall. The independent living community will have three stories and 119 units.

Construction began in 2016 on the $7 million project, and plans to expand even further on the 11 acres next to the project are in the works already. Senior patio homes have been proposed to the west of Fairfield Village.

The Clover Group is constructing the building.

Assisted Living and Memory Care Community Underway

Avanti Senior Living at August Pines poured the foundation for a 77,000-square-foot assisted living and memory care community this week. The Spring, Texas community will have room for 98 seniors in one- and two-bedroom apartments.

Residents will be able to enjoy a wellness center, an art studio, a theater area as well as a full-service salon and spa. The $17 million project is expected to open in late 2017.

Avanti Senior Living will operate the community.

Construction Underway on $30 Million Community

In Hampden Township, Pennsylvania, a $30 million senior living facility is under construction. The Crossings at West Shore will have 193 rooms and offer a mix of independent living, personal care services and other services for special needs.

Residents will be able to enjoy an activity room, theater, Internet cafe and exercise room.

The Crossings at West Shore is expected to open in fall of this year.

New Trilogy Health Campus Opens

Located in Louisville, Kentucky, Valley View Health Campus has opened on Trilogy Health Services’ Village Center property.  The campus will offer assisted living, long-term care, skilled nursing, rest care, adult day services, short-term rehab and outpatient therapy in its therapy gym.

In total, Valley View will have 99 beds with many private suites. The rooms are organized into neighborhoods, but there is a central dining room at the center of the campus.

Other amenities include private dining rooms, cafes, numerous courtyards, a beauty salon, an ice cream parlor and a state-of-the-art therapy gym.

Benchmark Senior Living Community Opens in New England

Developer, owner and operator Benchmark Senior Living opened its 53rd community in Norwood, Massachusetts, earlier this month. Benchmark Senior Living on Clapboardtree has 90 residential units, 69 assisted living units and 21 memory care units.

The units range in size from studios to two bedrooms. The campus offers restaurant-style dining, transportation services and a physical wellness program. Benchmark’s Live Now Live Engages program will be integrated into the memory care portion of the community as well.

The community was built across from Xaverian Brothers High School and will bring 70 jobs to the Norwood area.

Atria Senior Living Opens New Community

Atria at Foster Square has opened its doors to residents in Foster City, California. The community offers independent living, assisted living and memory care in a six-story, 155-unit building.

The LEED Silver certified building is part of a larger multi-building development, which will include other housing and retail space aimed at seniors in the area.

Amenities include a fitness center, yoga studio, movie theater, numerous dining venues and an upscale restaurant and cocktail lounge.

Atria Senior Living is operating Atria at Foster Square. This location will be the company’s 19th location in Northern California.
