Mainstreet Hires 3 New Team Members

Mainstreet, a developer of post-acute health care properties, hired three new employees at its Carmel, Indiana-based headquarters.

Susan Berry will be vice president of business development for Mainstreet Health. She most recently served as the director of operations with IPC Healthcare, and before that, she was the director of health services and director of institutional based plans with Bravo Health.

Mainstreet’s new vice president of business development is Jeff Key. He most recently worked as the vice president of the United States health care systems team at The Medicines Company. He also has a position on the Western Kentucky University National Alumni Board of Directors.

Scott Roberts joins Mainstreet as the new director of strategic projects for business development. He comes from TriMedx, where he worked as a manager of strategy and product development. Before that, he worked at Franciscan St. Francis Health.

Mainstreet is a national investment company specializing in real estate development, value investments and health care.

Revera Appoints New Senior VP of Retirement Living

Revera Inc., an owner, operator and investor in senior living, appointed Francis Gagnon as senior vice president of retirement living.

Gagnon comes to Revera with extensive experience in the senior living sector, having led national teams focused on sales, marketing and multiple aspects of the resident experience. He has held senior management roles at various consumer brands, including Pepsi-Cola, Heinz Canada and more. Most recently, he was senior vice president of strategic operations at Chartwell Seniors Housing.

As senior vice president of retirement living at Revera, Gagnon will oversee the expansion of Revera’s retirement portfolio and will advance the company’s strategic focus on growth and innovation. He will lead a team of more than 7,000 employees who serve nearly 10,000 residents at 96 retirement communities across Canada.

“Revera has entered an exciting period of growth as we expand our private pay retirement business and lead the way in driving meaningful innovation in senior care,” Revera President and CEO Thomas G. Wellner said in a news release. “Francis will be instrumental in mobilizing resources to create an exceptional customer experience, as well as advancing operational excellence.”

Revera owns or operates more than 500 senior living properties across Canada, the United States and the United Kingdom.

Acts Retirement-Life Communities Selects New Senior VP of General Counsel

Acts Retirement-Life Communities, a nonprofit senior living organization headquartered in West Point, Pennsylvania, selected Glenn D. Fox as senior vice president of general counsel.

In the role, Fox will oversee all legal matters for Acts. He has been a partner at major national and regional law firms, most recently at Saul Ewing LLP. He has more than 30 years of experience representing business and nonprofit organizations in corporate, tax and financial matters. He has been Acts’ outside corporate counsel and chief legal advisor for 20 years.

Acts is a not-for-profit owner, operator and developer of continuing care retirement communities (CCRCs), and has 21 senior living communities in eight states.

CERTUS Senior Management Names New VP of Program Development

CERTUS Senior Management, a wholly owned subsidiary of CERTUS Senior Living, named Joshua J. Freitas as vice president of program development.

In his new role, Freitas will be charged with creating, branding and implementing all policies and best practices related to memory care engagement programs, along with training programs for associates. He will also manage ongoing collaboration and research-based initiatives with industry professionals, educational institutions and clinical research centers.

Freitas is a nationally known speaker and the author of three books. He has served as corporate director of memory care and resident engagement at LCB Senior Living, and is the developer of the “Dementia by Design Evaluation Tool.”

“Joshua is a real asset for CERTUS,” CERTUS CEO Glen Pawlowski said in a news release. “We realize what an incredible contribution he will make in our organization. …We are very happy he is joining our team.”

CERTUS Senior Living is a privately held developer and operator that master leases its memory care communities.

Riderwood Announces New Director of Resident Life

Riderwood, a CCRC that’s located in Silver Spring, Maryland and managed by Erickson Living, announced the promotion of Michelle Glodeck to the role of director of resident life.

Glodeck has more than 23 years of experience in the senior living field, having joined Erickson Living in 1994 as a social worker. She spent 12 years at Charlestown in Catonsville, Maryland, and went on to join the Erickson Living management team in 2007 as resident services manager. She returned to the community level in 2014, and has been the resident life manager at Riderwood until her recent promotion.

In her new role, Glodeck will oversee functions and regulatory compliance of ancillary health services, including Medicare-covered home health support and private pay home care agencies, as well as the operations of pastoral ministries, social work and more. She will also serve as a member of the Riderwood executive management team and be the primary liaison with all other departments to ensure the integration of programs and services for residents across the continuum of care.

“Michelle has been a successful leader because she brings the knowledge and enthusiasm to create opportunities and expand the horizons for our residents,” Riderwood Executive Director Gary Hibbs said in a news release. “She is a great listener and cares deeply about her coworkers. Our resident life department provides many of the core services upon which our residents rely, and I look forward to working with Michelle as she leads this dynamic team.”

Erickson Living manages 19 CCRCs. Riderwood spans 120 acres and is home to more than 2,600 residents.

Caremerge Adds VP of Sales and Marketing

Caremerge, a health care technology company based in Chicago, added Jeff Niles as vice president of sales and marketing.

Prior to joining Caremerge, Niles was the vice president of sales and marketing for ShiftWise, a provider of software as a service (SaaS) based vendor management system (VMS) technology in the health care industry. As vice president of sales and marketing for Caremerge, Niles leads a growing sales and marketing team.

“I’m delighted to welcome Jeff to the Caremerge team,” Asif Khan, Founder and CEO of Caremerge, said in a news release. “As a passionate believer in innovation and technology for health care, Jeff is inspired to bring solutions that directly benefit the lives of the aging community. His appointment will help us build on our forward momentum and enable Caremerge to sustain our rapid growth through customer acquisition.”

Caremerge aims to connect providers, families and seniors through a cloud-based care coordination network.
