Dominion Senior Living Community Planned for $8 Million

Dominion Senior Living has announced plans for a new assisted living and memory care facility in Frankfort, Ky. The $8 million community will be 44,000 square feet.

The community will feature 84 units in a two-story community with access to optional care services to assist with daily living. Residents will have access to therapy and wellness programs as well as a large courtyard with picnic areas, games and walking paths and sensory gardens with features to engage memory care residents.

Construction is expected to begin soon and will be complete by December 2017.

Washington State Senior Community Reaches Halfway Point

A new independent living, assisted living and skilled nursing community in Gig Harbor, Wash., has reached its halfway point.

The first phase of the Heron’s Key development will have 194 apartment and cottage homes, 36 one-bedroom assisted living apartments and 45 skilled nursing private rooms.

Residents of Heron’s Key will enjoy many amenities including multiple dining venues, a salon and barber shop, nature walking trails, fitness center and creative arts studio.

At this point, more than 75% of its units have been reserved. Once complete, the community will have space for more than 350 residents.

Heron’s Key is scheduled to open in early 2017.

Ground Broken on Community in Fort Myers

Located in Fort Myers, Fla., a new senior living facility is underway. The 105,000-square-foot community will have 134 units, of which 96 will be assisted living and 38 will be memory care units.

The community will be situated on a five-acre plot of land and the layout of the building will feature three structures that are connected by corridors. The memory care wing will be separate from the assisted living units and will be located in a single-story building.

There will be a third building that will be dedicated to the administrative offices for staff and activities area, library, dining rooms and kitchen for residents.

Gilbane Building Company is behind the construction of the community and the Lawson Group, Inc. is designing the facility.

Memory Care and Assisted Living Communities Break Ground

EPOCH Senior Living has partnered with a real estate and investment firm, National Development, to build memory care and assisted living communities in Norwalk, Conn. and Pembroke, Mass.

Ground was broken on Bridges by EPOCH at the end of October for both communities. Once complete, the community in Norwalk will feature 64 memory care suites designed for individuals living with all stages of memory impairment.

The community in Pembroke will include 48 memory care suites.

Both communities are slated to open fall 2017. EPOCH has opened six other Bridges by EPOCH communities in recent years.

Independent Living Community To Open Next Summer

Located in Highlands Ranch, Colo., Longs Ridge at Wind Crest independent living community is under construction but has already sold all 99 apartment homes in the community.

The $33.2 million project will be the fourth new residence building in the last three years at Wind Crest. The new building will have a mix of one-and two-bedroom apartments. Many of the homes will feature balconies.

The residence will include amenities like restaurants, fitness centers, a salon-spa, Red Rocks catering room and a 230-seat enrichment center.

Longs Ridge is managed by Erickson Living and is being constructed by Brinkmann Construction. The residence, designed by JHP, has an anticipated open date of summer 2017.

Community Underway for 55+ Crowd in Texas

Solea Cedar Park, located just north of Austin, Texas, is underway. The 55+ community will have 184 units in a range of sizes from one- and two-bedrooms spanning 653 to 1,294 square feet.

Residents will enjoy amenities such as a 10,000-quare-foot clubhouse, theater, gym, coffee and wine bar, resort-style pool and elevator access. The plans also include parkland with walking trains, which will connect to other local trails.

The community is being developed by Dallas-based Stream Realty Partners and will open in summer 2017.

Construction Underway on Senior Community $84 Million Expansion  

Blanton Assisted Living Center, located in East Dallas, Texas, is getting a huge expansion.

A new 10-level, 325,000-square-foot center is under contracted and will be connected to the current assisted living center.

The new building, The Vista is being developed by C.C. Young and will add 221 new residences. The building will focus on transitional living but the architecture of the structure will be modern.

The architects behind the build are from D2 Architects. The Vista plans to be completed in summer 2018.

CCRC Completes $15.8 Million Expansion

The continuing care retirement community, St. Clare-Newport will soon open its 122,000-square-foot expansion.

The new addition to the Newport, Rhode Island-based community includes a three-story structure that includes assisted living and independent living apartments as well as a memory care unit and an adult day health program.

New amenities include a rehabilitation unit with salt water aqua therapy pool, a restaurant-style dining room and a recreational space.

The community is the first of its kind in Newport County.
