Sodexo Names VP of Sales and Business Development for Senior Living

Sodexo named Lindsay Casillas as vice president of sales and business development for senior living, focusing on accelerating growth of Sodexo’s seniors segment business in North America. She will also be a member of the seniors global leaderhsip team.

Casillas joins Sodexo from Brookdale Senior Living, where she was vice president of sales and marketing, owner relations. There, she focused on lead generation and strategic sales planning. Her experience includes managing a portfolio of 156 senior living communities across memory care, assisted living, independent living and skilled nursing product lines.

“Lindsay’s experience as an industry insider and her in-depth knowledge of the marketplace complements our culture and will enable the seniors segment to accelerate its rate of successful growth, Joe Cuticelli, CEO of Sodexo Seniors North America, said in a news release. “She shares Sodexo’s values and our commitment to improving quality of life, which is recognized by industry leaders as a strategic priority for their organizations. NCAL Elects New Board of Directors

The National Center for Assisted Living elected its board of directors for the 2016-17 term, with Christian Mason, of Oregon, being reelected as NCAL chair.

Mason is the president and CEO of Senior Housing Managers, which operates assisted living, residential care communities and nursing centers in multiples states. He has 30 years of experience in long-term care, and was elected to NCAL’s board in 2006.

Members of the NCAL board of directors were elected by current members of the NCAL board and by NCAL state leaders.

“The diversity of assisted living professionals on the NCAL board is what helps make our association strong,” NCAL Executive Director Scott Tittle said in a news release. “We are honored they have chosen to share their expertise and leadership to move the assisted living profession forward.”

NCAL, along with the American Health Care Association, represents more than 13,000 nonprofit and propriertary skilled nursing centers, assisted living communities and more.

Anthem Memory Care Appoints VP of Human Resources

Anthem Memory Care appointed Luda Munoz as vice president of human resources.

In her new role, Munoz will oversee strategic planning, development and implementation of human resources programs that further the company’s mission. She joined Anthem as human resources director in 2014, and previously held executive positions with InterDent Service Corporation and Stratus Dental Group. She also served as a recruiter for Kaiser Permanente.

Anthem is based in Lake Oswego, Oregon, and operates 10 memory care communities in Colorado, California, Illinois and Kansas, with an eleventh under construction in Illinois.

Primrose Retirement Communities Hires New Sales Director, Nursing Director

Primrose Retirement Community of Austin, located in Austin, Minnesota, hired Lexy Smith as director of nursing and promoted Rebecca Earl to sales director.

As the director of nursing, Smith will guide and oversee the overall care of residents and help to manage the nursing staff. She will also ensure compliance with all necessary regulations.

“I am excited to be at Primrose,” she said in a news release. “I look forward to helping the residents receive the quality care they deserve.”

As sales director, Earl will oversee all marketing and sales efforts, as well as public relations events and community outreach for the community. She previously served as life enrichment coordinator, and before that, worked in sales and accounting for the Austin Bruins junior hockey team.

“I am excited to help grow our community,” Earl said in the release. “I plan to bring much dedication and hard work to this team and am so happy to be part of such a welcoming atmosphere full of great people.”

Primrose Retirement Community of Austin has 40 independent living apartment homes and 24 assisted living units. Primrose Retirement Communities, L.L.C. is headquartered in Aberdeen, South Dakota, and provides independent living, assisted living and memory care in communities across the country.

LCB Senior Living Announces Appointments, Promotions

LCB Senior Living selected Jack Pacor as the company’s new marketing specialist at the corporate office in Norwood, Massachusetts. Additionally, Allyson Sweeney was named executive director at The Residence at Shelburne Bay in Shelburne, Vermont, and Caryl Tyrpak was appointed as resident care director at The Residence at Pearl Street in Reading, Massachusetts, both LCB communities.

In the newly created position of marketing specialist, Pacor will be responsible for supporting LCB communities through a variety of public relations, branding and marketing activities. He previously was a marketing intern with SAP SE in Pennsylvania, and has also had experience in senior living and elder care through volunteer work.

Sweeney has several years of experience in elder care, most recently serving as associate executive director at the Arbors at Shelburne. She will now oversee operations at the Residence at Shelburne Bay, which includes independent living, assisted living and memory care.

Tyrpak is a registered nurse (RN) with more than 20 years of experience in nursing, and 15 years in elder care, assisted living and memory care. She has served as resident services director at different senior living communities, as well as quality care coordintor and client document specialist. The Residence at Pearl Street features memory care.

LCB Senior Living owns and operates 19 communities throughout New England, and is developing several more.

Holland Home Welcomes New Executive Director

Holland Home welcomed Tim Myers as the executive director of its Raybrook Campus in Grand Rapids, Michigan.

As executive director, Myers manages the day-to-day operations of the campus, which offers indpendent living, assisted living, memory care and skilled nursing. He previously spent eight years as the executive director of Atrium Centers in Zeeland. He is a licensed nursing home administrator.

“His gifts in leadership, experience in the health care field and his commitment to the mission of Holland Home make it a blessing to serve with Tim,” said Troy Vugteveen, executive vice president of operations.
