Located in Augusta, Ga., The Claiborne at West Lake will break ground in the first quarter of 2017. There will be at least 100 units for both assisted living and memory care. Of the 100 units, 72 will be studios, one-bedroom or two-bedroom units for assisted living and the memory care community will have 30 suites.

Residents can enjoy a number of amenities such as advanced wellness monitoring systems, concierge services, a library, theater, activities room, fitness and rehabilitation rooms, medical examination rooms and two full-service salons.

CR Properties LLC are the developers behind the project and Blake Management Group will be managing the community.

Presbyterian Senior Living CCRC Announces $10 Million Expansion

The continuing care retirement community, operated by Presbyterian Senior Living, Ware Presbyterian Village is located in Oxford, Pa. and has announced a $10 million renovation and expansion plan.

Westminster Place at Ware Apartments will be built for individuals age 55 and over, and the community’s skilled nursing and rehabilitation center will undergo renovations.

The apartment building will have 61 units. Thirty-one of the apartments will be one- and two-bedroom rental units with income limits. The additional 30 units will offer moderately priced entrance fees starting at $90,000 and monthly fees starting at around $1,400.

The renovations on the skilled nursing and rehabilitation center will happen in phases over the next 18-24 months. The plans include private rooms for the 137 older adults who utilize the short-stay rehab, skilled nursing services and memory care support.

The projects are expected to be complete in late summer or early fall of 2017.

Tampa, Fla. Community to Open in December 2017

Arbor Terrace at Citrus Park is nearing completion in Tampa, Fla. The independent living community will offer 139 apartments in a range of one-and two-bedroom units from 610- to 1,095-square feet.

Exterior amenities will include private garage, covered parking options, an outdoor saltwater pool, outdoor walking paths, a dog walk, a children’s playground, a dock with a fishing pier and outdoor patio areas with a fire pit.

The independent living community will also be able to enjoy a community dining room, bar, cafe and bistro, private dining, fitness and exercise gym, physical therapy gym, along, spa, library, business center, woodworking shop, movie theater, art studio, card and game room and resident storage areas.

Rookis Investment Partners is developing the community, Chancey Design Partnership is handling architecture and design of the community and The Arbor Company is operating the community.

Ebenezer Breaks Ground on Senior Living Community 

Located in Lake Elmo, Minn., Arbor Glen Senior Living has broken ground.

The two-story, $16 million development will offer 84 apartments, 60 of which will be for independent and assisted living and the remaining 24 will be memory care apartments for residents with Alzheimer’s or dementia.

Residents will be able to enjoy restaurant-quality dining with chef-prepared meals, private dining, overnight guest suites, community rooms, underground parking, outdoor decks and patios. Arbor Glen will also have an activities director, movie theater, fitness center, hair salon and scheduled group transportation a community van.

The 106,654 square-foot community is designed by Ayres Associates and is being managed by Ebenezer Management Services.

New $40 Million Community Opens in Charlotte, N.C.

Waltonwood Cotswold is now open in Charlotte, N.C. The 120,000 square-foot, $40 million community will host an official grand opening in early fall. The community has 91 assisted living apartments and 26 memory care apartments.

Amenities include chef-prepared meals made to order in a restaurant-style dining room, housekeeping and laundry service, licensed nurses on staff 24 hours a day, medication management, a movie theater billiards and game room, cafe, fitness center, salon and landscaped courtyards.

Waltonwood Costwold is the second Waltonwood community in Charlotte and was developed by Singh Development.

Sterling Estates of West Cobb Construction Complete

Located in Marietta, Ga., Sterling Estates of West Cobb  opened last week with 71 residents to move in over the next few weeks.

The community includes independent living cottages, garden homes, apartments and assisted living units in a classic neighborhood setting with walking paths and landscaped courtyards.

The independent living cottages are still being finished, but when complete, there will be over 50 cottages and garden homes as well as 42 one- and two-bedroom apartments. There are plans to build an independent living clubhouse in a future phase.

The current phase of independent living that is open has 16 cottages and garden homes and 21 apartments.

The assisted living part of the community, The Landmark, has one- and two-bedroom suites with a total of 90 units. The Landmark has three dining venues, a 7,500 square foot wellness center that includes an indoor heated salt water aerobic pool, theater, private common living rooms and library.

The project took 15 months to compete and the general contractor was Brasfield Gorrie.

Spectrum Retirement Community Opens in Ill. 

The newest Spectrum Retirement Community has opened in Streamwood, Ill.

Westbrook Senior Living has 69 independent living apartments, 59 assisted living apartments and 24 memory care residences, all ranging in size from studio apartments to two-bedroom units.

The community is 136,000 square feet and its guests can enjoy amenities such as chef-prepared dining, Colors of Spectrum wellness programs and entertainment activities.

Westbrook is the company’s fifth community in Illinois.

Congress Building Corp. Completes Mass. Senior Living Community

Located in Greenfield, Mass., Greenfield Acres is now complete. The senior living and independent living community is owned by Greenfield Acres LLC and operated by PCE Management, affiliates of the Congress Companies.

The community is 86,000 square feet and features 94 apartments. There are also common areas, a computer lab, exercise area and outdoor patio for residents to enjoy.

Greenfield Acres was completed under a financing program including collaborative effort of MassHousing, the Department of Housing and Urban Development and the U.S. Treasury.
