BPM Senior Living Hires President, COO

Portland, Oregon-based BPM Senior Living hired Dan Lamey as president and COO.

In his new role, Lamey will be responsible for overseeing operations, business initiatives and strategic growth for the company. Lamey began his career in senior living more than 20 years ago with Regent Assisted Living, and spent the past four years as COO for Blue Harbor Senior Living.

“I am very excited to join an organization committed to providing an outstanding experience for both their residents and employees,” Lamey said in a news release. “The company and its founder have a tremendous track record as a pioneer and innovator in the senior living industry. I look forward to working with an amazing team of professionals to establish BPM as the premier senior living company on the West Coast.”

BPM Senior Living is a developer, owner and operator of independent living, assisted living and memory care communities.

Allegro Senior Living Announces New Executive Director

Allegro Senior Living announced Debbie Michelet as executive director at the provider’s new location in Winter Park, Florida, which will open in 2017.

Michelet will be tasked with overseeing the community’s sales and operations, as well as creating a resident-centered community. She has spent 20 years in the senior living industry, with experience across all levels of management and operations and at the corporate and community levels. 

“I am excited to build a team that shares my same passion to serve our residents, families and associates,” Michelet said in a news release. “I consider it a great honor to work with the men and women of the greatest generation.”

The community under construction will offer 158 units for indpendent living, assisted living and memory care. St. Louis, Missouri-based Allegro develops and currently manages 11 senior living communities throughout Florida and Kentucky.

Legacy Arbors Selects Executive Director

Legacy Arbors, a Legacy Retirement Communities memory care facility located in Lincoln, Nebraska, selected Larry Gadeken as its executive director.

Gadeken comes to his new role after serving as director of Guardian Angels Homecare for five years. He also owned and operated a successful durable medical equipment company for several years before that. Gadeken has known and spent time with the Legacy Retirement Communities’ founder, Jerry Joyce, over the past 20 years.

“I have been part of [Legacy Retirement Communities] since it was founded—I just finally get to work here,” Gadeken said.

Legacy Retirement Communities offers independent and assisted living at three locations and memory care at Legacy Arbors.

Alden Courts of Shorewood Names Memory Care Director

Alden Courts of Shorewood, a memory care community located in Shorewood, Illinois, named Ashley Bolyn as memory care director.

Bolyn previously served as the assistant administrator at Alden Estates of Shorewood Post-Acute Rehabilitation Center, and has various certifications, including dementia practitioner, recreation therapy and activity professional.

“Ashley is a wonderful asset to the community,” Annette Akerman, administrator of Alden Estates of Shorewood and executive director at Alden Courts of Shorewood, said in a news release. “She understands senior health from her time at our rehabilitation facility and will be able to use her skills in recreation therapy to provide specialized activity programming for each resident.”

Alden Courts of Shorewood offers memory care with assisted living services, as well as skilled rehabilitation/Medicare-covered services to individuals with Alheimer’s, Parkinson’s and other conditions that cause dementia.
