Senior Living Community in North Carolina to Break Ground Next Month
A new senior living community in Mount Pleasant, N.C. is scheduled to begin construction on its first phase in July. South Bay at Mount Pleasant, a Liberty Health Care Group affiliate, will be part of a mixed-use community on 27 acres.
The 398-unit continuing care facility will include facilities for independent living, assisted living and memory care. Phase one will cost $99.6 million and will include the first 300 units.
The units will be upscale and include concierge-type services, an array of dining options and many options for educational, cultural and recreational activities. There will also be an ownership option for certain apartments along a six-acre pond.
Sonata Health Care Plans to Build New $30 Million Community
Located across from its memory care community in Winter Garden, Fla., Sonata West Orange will be 139,000 square feet and include 78 independent living units and 35 assisted living units in the middle of two 8,000-square-foot courtyards.
The first garden will include relaxing foundations, seating for outdoor dining, fire pits and various areas for conversation or gardening. The second garden will feature a pool and covered porches.
The floorpans of the apartments will be spacious to support an active lifestyle. The community will include lounge areas, a bar, bistro, a full-service salon, a business center, library arts and craft room, a movie theater and garden solarium.

Construction of El Caro Senior Residences Planned, Phoenix
An affordable senior housing project by Gardner Capital Development is planned to begin construction in the first quarter of 2017, with completion anticipated 15 months after construction begins.
Gardener Capital Development was awarded a reservation of Low Income Housing Tax Credits from the Arizona Department of Housing for the $18 million community.
El Caro Senior Residences will include 102 energy-efficient one- and two-bedroom apartments in Phoenix, Ariz. near the Metro Light Rail Station.
All units will be leased to seniors who earn between $18,000 and $34,000 in household income.
The site will include a two-story clubhouse, a community center in the middle of the complex, conference rooms, multipurpose rooms and a barbecue area outside.

Construction Underway at Cherrywood Pointe of Roseville
A four-story senior living community has broken ground in Roseville, Minn. Cherrywood Pointe of Roseville at Lexington will offer 115 units once finished. There will be 85 independent living and assisted living apartments with varying floorpans, 24 memory care apartments and six care suites.
The community will feature a restaurant-quality dining room with meals prepared by chefs, private dining, overnight guest rooms, community rooms, underground parking, outdoor spaces and state-of-the-art monitoring and reporting technology.
In addition, residents will also be able to enjoy a movie theater, fitness center, hair salon, bistro and scheduled group transportation.
Cherrywood Pointe of Roseville at Lexington is owned by United Properties, was designed by L&M Associates and is being built by Weis Builders. The project is expected to be completed by July 2017.
Sycamore Creek Senior Living Community Breaks Ground, Ohio
Construction has begun at Sycamore Creek Senior Living near Columbus, Ohio. The affordable, luxury independent living community is a project by the Denver-based company, Spectrum Retirement Communities and is scheduled to open in late summer 2017.
The community will be 137,000 square feet and include 132 apartment homes, ranging in sizes from studios to two-bedrooms with two bathrooms. Sycamore Creek will feature top-flight amenities, chef-prepared dining and a signature wellness program by Spectrum.
Apartments at Sycamore Creek will offer flexible month-to-month leasing programs and will begin taking reservations this month.
The general contractor for the project is Holland and the design was done by Vessel Architecture & Design.
Wilmington, N.C. Active Adult Community is Underway
The sixth community by Del Webb in Wilmington, N.C. has begun construction. The community will be targeted towards pre-retirees and retiring Baby Boomers.
The finished project, located in the RiverLights area of Wilmington, will include approximately 500 homes and a 15,000-square-foot amenity center with indoor and outdoor pools, fitness rooms and tennis, bocce and pickle ball courts.
Various social programs that enhance the mind and body will be a large part of the active adult community.
The community is expected to have its grand opening in October of this year.
Ground Broken at Senior Living Community in Little Canada, Minn.
A new four-story, 118-unit senior living community, Cardigan Ridge, is underway in Little Canada, Minn. The community will provide independent living, assisted living and memory care in a variety of apartment layouts on 158,000 square feet of land.
The community was designed by Kaas Wilson Architects, based in Minneapolis, and is being constructed by Nottingham Construction, based in Stillwater, Minn.
In addition to the decks, screen porches and balconies included in the various apartments, Cardigan Ridge will feature overnight guest rooms, underground parking, a community room, private dining room and a high-end restaurant-quality dining room with meals prepared by a chef.
There will also be a movie theater, fitness center, hair salon, spa tub room, workshop, craft room and library with computer access for all residents to utilize.
Cardigan Ridge will be managed by Ebenezer Management Services and is expected to be completed by May 2017.

Merrillville Memory Care Complete in Northwest Indiana
A high-level care community for people suffering from memory loss was just completed in Merrillville, Ind. Merrillville Memory care has 50 beds and 48 units in the 33,760 square-foot, single-story complex.
The community includes a living room with a see-through fireplace, dining area with a full-service kitchen, activity center, relaxation room, spa and salon. There is also an enclosed central courtyard with a large patio, seating ares and custom artistic sculpture surrounded by walkways and landscaping.
Construction of the project was completed by McShane Construction and architectural services were provided by Architectural Design Consultants, Inc.
