A central focus of the redesigned community will be fixated on empowering residents to improve their overall well-being, with new wellness programming based on the latest research about how to stay active and healthy longer.

Baptist Retirement Community to Expand 100-Acre Campus
Baptist Retirement Community, a 100-acre CCRC serving over 400 seniors in San Angelo, Texas, is planning a renovation project to expand community-wide amenities.
With many of the homes on the CCRC campus built during the 60s, 70s and 80s, the community is currently working to bring everything up-to-date—a total renovation that will call for replacing everything except the sheetrock.
This means replacing all the interior and exterior doors; scraping off the popcorn ceilings and retexturing them; gutting bathrooms to remove bathtubs and replace them with showers and toilets to meet new health care standards; replacing cabinetry, countertops and flooring; as well as adding more light fixtures and more ceiling fans.
The community is also taking a green approach in its renovations by adding new Energy Star appliances, energy-efficient heating and cooling systems, fluorescent light bulbs, storm doors, double pane windows and insulation in the attics.
Landscaping renovations may involved xeriscaping yards to improve water conservation and highlight the beauty of native West Texas plants and shrubbery.
For many of the homes, the CCRC will also be adding back porches and patio areas.
