Cushman & Wakefield Hires Noble Carpenter and Afton Trail

Cushman & Wakefield, a global real estate company, has appointed Noble Carpenter as capital markets service line leader for the Americas region and Afton Trail, CPM, as senior managing director of assets services for the firm’s Western region.

Carpenter has more than 20 years of extensive capital markets leadership and cross-border transaction experience. He will report to Stettinius and Carlo Barel di Sant’Albano, chairman of the EMEA region and chief executive of global capital markets and investor services. The trio are positioned to leverage Cushman & Wakefield’s newly merged global service platform to broaden and deepen existing relationships with corporate, institutional and investor clients in the Americas and around the world.

Carpenter will also focus on recruiting top talent in key growth markets in the Americas. The firm recently added a number of capital market professionals, including Randy Baird, Jud Clements and Robby Rieke. This team is based in Dallas and has completed more than $30 billion in completed sales transactions to the firm’s regional profile.

She will lead the asset services team across Dallas, Denver, Houston, Los Angeles, Northern California, Phoenix, San Diego and San Francisco. Trail will be based in Phoenix.

Prior to joining Cushman & Wakefield, Trail was Southwest region managing director of investor services at CBRE. She was responsible for leading agency leasing, property management, project management, capital markets and valuation in Arizona, Nevada, New Mexico and Utah and served with CBRE for 18 years.

REDICO Promotes Two Vice Presidents

REDICO, a Southfield, Michigan-based real estate development and investment company, has appointed Samantha Eckhout to vice president of development and Tim McCafferty to vice president of construction.

Eckhout first joined REDICO in 2013 as a senior project manager with American House Senior Living Communities development projects, a REDICO affiliate. She will continue to be responsible for the successful delivery of senior housing developments and managing the planning, design and construction of new and existing properties. In her new role, she will also be responsible for sourcing new opportunities.

Prior to joining REDICO, Eckhout managed American House projects as a consultant and also served in development roles at Lockwood Development and Village Green.

As vice president of construction, McCafferty will be responsible for supporting the design, engineering and construction of new commercial developments at REDICO. He first joined the company in 2007 as a senior project manager. He previously served as the director of design and construction consulting services at the Staubach Company and spent 15 years as a construction manager with Hines, Inc.

Riderwood Community Hires Jennifer Hill to Realty & Moving Services Team

Riderwood, a Silver Spring, Maryland-based Erickson Living retirement community, has hired Jennifer Hill to its realty and moving services team.

In this role, she will serve as a personal moving consultant alongside Diane Thometz in the community’s department of sales and marketing. Her main responsibility will be to assist clients in staging their houses when placing them on the market. She will provide curb appeal resources and referrals from preferred realtors. Hill will also offer professional downsizing advice and offer to help clients select furnishings and belongings to be moved, stored or donated.

The realty and moving service program is widely used at Riderwood, with 93 percent of new residents in 2014 utilizing the services. There were 210 individualized home appointments to clients in Maryland and out of state.

The Riderwood community has 1,842 one and two-bedroom apartment homes.

Waterford Communities Hire Christy Merritt as Executive Director

Christy Merritt has been appointed as the new executive director of The Waterford at Williamsburg Assisted Living community, one of three residences located in the Lincoln, Nebraska area, the Waterford Communities announced.

Merritt joins the staff with more than 18 years of marketing, business and leadership experience.

“Her compassion for people with a special interest in elder care and a desire to make a difference has been the key point of motivation that has furthered her career and led her to this new opportunity with The Waterford Communities,” a statement reads.

Southern Care Assisted Living Appoints Emily Leffew as Executive Director

Emily Leffew has been named executive director at Southern Care Assisted Living, an assisted living and memory care community located in Tifton, Georgia.

Prior to joining Southern Care, Leffew served as director of resident care at Renaissance Marquis retirement community in Rome, Georgia, where she trained 25 new Certified Nursing Assistants annually and ensured residents’ well-being. She is a Licensed Practical Nurse in Georgia and served for a number of years as general supervisor for Gerdau Ameristeel.
