HCP’s Lauralee Martin Joins Urban Land Institute Board 

The Urban Land Institute (ULI), a nonprofit education and research institute based in Washington D.C., has welcomed new members to the ULI Board of Directors and ULI Operating Committee, as well as new ULI Trustees, all of whom started serving their terms July 1, 2015.

Among the organization’s new board members is Treasurer Lauralee Martin, president and CEO of HCP, Inc. (NYSE: HCP).

The ULI Board of Directors oversees the development of ULI’s business strategy and business plan to guide the advancement of ULI’s mission, which is to provide leadership in the responsible use of land and in creating and sustaining thriving communities worldwide, according to the company.

Highland Manor Welcomes Staff to Clinical Care Team 

Elko, Nevada-based Highland Manor Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, located on the retirement campus at Highland Village of Elko, has welcomed Felix De Guzman and Katie Steele to join its in-house Clinical Care team. Both are on campus full time and will be able to provide care for all residents, according to local reports.

De Guzman brings to the organization a wealth of medical experience, as he is board certified in Internal Medicine since 2001 and is a fellow of the American College of Physicians.

He previously worked in the Carlin and Elko community health centers, and at Vitality Center and the local hospital. He has mentored medical students and internal medicine residents as an assistant clinical professor of the University of Nevada School of Medicine. He also continues to act as the medical director of the Carlin Volunteer Fire Department EMS.

Steele, physician assistant, has been a member of the Clinical Care team at Highland Manor since October 2013. Steele is an employee of Geriatric Specialty Care, a medical group based in Reno and comprised of nurse practitioners, physician assistants and medical doctors. GSC is an “office without walls” serving the frail and home-bound elderly residing in private residences, group care homes, assisted living and skilled nursing facilities.

Steele works in the skilled nursing and assisted living facilities at Highland Manor of Elko.

She holds a Master of Medical Science in Physician Assistant Studies from Salus University in Elkins Park, Pa. Before that, Steele attended New Mexico State University in Las Cruces, N.M., and graduated with a Bachelor of Science in kinesiology. Steele is a fellow of American Geriatrics Society, American Academy of Physician Assistants and Nevada Academy of Physician Assistants.

CellTrak Names New Chief Financial Officer

Schaumburg, Illinois-based CellTrak Technologies, a provider of mobile health care and service delivery solutions, has announced that Brian Murnane has joined the company as its first chief financial officer.

Murnane’s recent experience includes finance, administration and human resources leadership roles at other rapidly growing health care and software-as-a-service companies.

At CellTrak, Murnane will be responsible for those areas, with an emphasis on enhancing the financial systems, administrative processes and personal and professional development practices that will enable CellTrak to continue to provide its home care, hospice and community care customers around the world with a business solution that enables a distributed work force to efficiently deliver high-quality health care and services.

Most recently, Murnane had similar responsibilities at Itentive Healthcare Solutions, a clinical and practice management solution provider, and at Big Machines, a cloud-based provider of solutions that enable sales organizations to operate more efficiently. His earlier experience includes time with Orbitz, Fresenius Medical Care and Grant Thornton.

Riverwood Retirement Management Names Executive Director

Orange City, Florida-based management and consulting firm Riverwood Retirement Management, Inc. has named Joe Trainor executive director of John Knox Village, a continuing care retirement community (CCRC) in Central Florida.

Trainor brings to John Knox Village extensive knowledge of the senior housing industry and years of experience as an executive in health care administration.

He has managed more than 1,200 employees and budgets exceeding $70 million. Prior to joining John Knox Village, he worked in the roles of executive director, administrator and regional director at other CCRCs since 1988.

Focused on optimizing operations and strategic planning, Trainor offers expertise in building and leading results-oriented, high-performance teams, the company said.

The Goodman Group Welcomes National Director of Rehab Services

Chaska, Minnesota-based The Goodman Group, a national developer and manager of senior living and health care communities, recently announced the appointment of Dee Leman, a registered and licensed occupational therapist, as national director of rehabilitation services.

In her new role, Leman will oversee all rehabilitation services offered at The Goodman Group’s managed senior living and health care communities, including physical, occupational and speech therapy, and will collaborate on restorative therapies.

Leman has more than 25 years of experience in rehabilitation services. Most recently, she was the director of rehabilitation operations at Benedictine Health System (BHS), and was responsible for the therapy operations of all BHS facilities.

Prior to that, she was regional director of rehabilitation at BHS. Over the years, she has held a variety of key health care management positions. She began her career in the industry as a clinical coordinator of occupational therapy at Mid-America Rehabilitation Hospital.

Traditions of America Hires New Home Information Specialist

Jennifer Agadzhanov has joined Traditions of America in the new position of New Home Information Specialist, serving as an online concierge to prospective homeowners interested in learning more about the Radnor-based developer’s 55-plus communities and new home programs.

Agadzhanov brings to the position more than 11 years of experience in the real estate industry, with a focus on sales, marketing and online communications. A licensed real estate salesperson in Pennsylvania, she worked in both resale and new home sales as a realtor with Coldwell Banker Preferred in Center City Philadelphia and with new home builders Pulte Homes and Beazer Homes in sales and marketing.

Chicagoland Senior Living Community Adds to Marketing Leadership

Oak Trace, a senior living community in Downers Grove, Ill., has welcomed Kristin Scott as the new marketing director for health care services.

In her new role, she oversees all day-to-day activities for educating area seniors and their families about the services and holistic health approach at Oak Trace. She builds relationships with area physicians, caregivers, seniors and adult children.

Scott has nearly a decade of experience in the health care field, having worked in business development and physician and consumer relations. Previously, she was the regional director of business development for Legacy Healthcare.

Matt Ham Appointed Vice President of Life Care’s Southwest Division

Life Care Centers of America, a nationwide skilled nursing and rehab company, recently appointed Matt Ham as vice president of its Southwest Division, based in Chandler, Ariz.

Ham most recently served as regional vice president of Life Care’s Mesquite Region, part of the Southwest Division. He served in that capacity for five years, overseeing several facilities in Arizona. In his new assignment, he will have operational oversight for 23 buildings in Arizona, California and Nevada.

Before becoming a regional vice president, Ham was executive director at Life Care Center of Bountiful, Utah.
