The 2014 SHN Design Awards are Here—Submit Your Project Today

The Senior Housing News Architecture & Design Awards are back.

And this year, they’re bigger than ever.

After receiving hundreds of entries last year from senior housing communities nationwide, the annual SHN Awards are back to showcase cutting-edge design, excellence and innovation in senior living for 2014.

Sponsored by Kwalu, a provider of furniture for the senior living and healthcare sectors, this year’s SHN Design Awards are currently accepting submissions.

An expert panel of judges from several leading firms within the senior living space will evaluate entries on a number of criteria to determine what communities improve the lives of their residents through innovative architecture and design.

New categories this year include a separate category for Stand Alone Memory Care as well as a group for Green/Energy Efficient projects.

All categories for submission include:

  • New Independent Living
  • New Assisted Living
  • New Skilled Nursing / Post Acute Care
  • New Continuing Care Retirement Community (CCRC)
  • Renovation / Repositioning
  • Stand Alone Memory Care
  • Affordable Housing
  • Green / Efficient Energy

Projects that have been constructed, renovated and completed from January 1, 2013 to present day—and haven’t won an SHN Award in the past—are eligible to enter this year’s contest.

Winning communities will receive a feature story about the team behind the celebrated development, recognition on Senior Housing News’ website and newsletter, an engraved trophy for your community or company, along with an exclusive online badge that can be displayed on your website.

All nominations must be submitted to the 2014 Senior Housing News Awards page no later than November 14, 2014 by 5pm (CST). All winners will be announced December 17th on Senior Housing News. Each submission is $400 and can be paid using any major credit card.

Feel free to check out the 2014 Awards webpage for further information on how you can submit your community for consideration, as well as information on past winners.
