SeniorHomes.com Names Best of Senior Living in Annual Ranking

Holiday Retirement and Provision Living have the best websites among senior living large companies in 2014, according to SeniorHomes.com’s annual awards program.

The winning senior living resources in both the consumer and industry markets were announced on Tuesday for SeniorHomes.com’s 2014 Best Senior Living Awards. To determine the winners, the national directory of senior housing and care options assembled a panel of 21 experts to rate more than 150 blogs, websites, and newsletters related to the senior living industry.

In addition to the expert panel’s finalist picks, SeniorHomes.com also recognized a ‘People’s Choice’ winner for each category, obtained through a popular vote.

The awards program helps promote visibility of companies and experts within the senior living industry, said Chris Rodde, CEO of SeniorHomes.com. “The tens of thousands of votes nominees receive each year is a clear indication that it’s a valued process,” he said in a statement. “[Every nominee makes] exceptional contributions to the senior living space.”

Halcyon Hospice and Approved In-Home Health Care have the best websites among small business as both the winner and people’s choice respectively; small businesses are defined as those that serve 10 communities or less.

For best senior living resources, GlynnDevins Blog won with Care Compliance Blog winning the popular vote.

Within the consumer categories, Sunrise Senior Living was recognized as the best senior living blog by organizations, and EPOCH Senior Living Blog nabbed the people’s choice award.

The panel rated finalists based on a set of standardized, category-specific rating criteria. Finalists were evaluated by experts on criteria such as the breadth and depth of content provided on their websites and the quality, accuracy and uniqueness of content.

This year’s panelists included Bart Astor, author of multiple books related to the senior consumer market; Anthony Cirillo, a healthcare consultant, senior health expert, and About.com Guide to Assisted Living writer; Seth Garber, president and CEO of Bild & Company, and Dan Hutson, vice president of communications and marketing for be.group, among others.
