HCP Named Healthcare Leader in Sustainability

For the second consecutive year, HCP, Inc. (NYSE: HCP) has been named the global and North American leader for the healthcare sector by the Global Real Estate Sustainability Benchmark (GRESB).

An investor-driven organization committed to rigorous and independent evaluation of the sustainability performance of real estate portfolios, GRESB’s report is based on data gathered from over 540 property companies and funds.

“We are delighted to be recognized as the healthcare real estate leader in sustainability by GRESB,” said HCP Chairman and CEO Jay Flaherty. “Sustainability is one of our core values and these acknowledgements reward the ongoing efforts of our employees in support of this important corporate objective.”

The real estate investment trust (REIT) was also awarded a Green Star designation by GRESB, which recognizes an organization’s integrated approach regarding its management of key environmental performance indicators.

“HCP is not only recognized as the North American regional sector leader in the GRESB survey, but is also the global top-performer in the healthcare sector,” said Nils Kok, executive director of GRESB. “We commend HCP for its continued leadership.”
