Nursing Homes Show Inconsistencies Across United States: Infographic

Eight out of 10 nursing home residents need help with four or five activities of daily living, with private pay costs of care ranging from $75,190 for a private room to $66,795 for a semi-private unit monthly.

These and other findings are included in an infographic created by Nursingschoolhub.com that outlines nursing home occupancy across states, with 1.7 million beds available in the U.S.

Spending on nursing home care, measuring around $100 billion, is not consistent across states, with some, such as Iowa, seeing as much as 45% of nursing home care paid for by private resources and others, including Florida, having more than 20% paid for by Medicare.
