CNN Money Ranks 25 Best Places to Retire in 2012

Money Magazine recently ranked the 25 Best Places to Retire in 2012 based on a variety of factors including housing prices, income tax rate, activities and nearby attractions, climate, and the availability of healthcare. 

Surprisingly, Florida didn’t make the top-5 list, squeaking in at number ten. Most places on the list are located in warm-weather or temperate climates, with some rather unusual inclusions of cities that aren’t standard fodder for retirement lists, including Coeur d’Alene, Ida., and Traverse City, Mich.

  5. Austin, Tex.
  6. Winston-Salem, N.C.
  7. St. George, Utah

  10. St. Augustine, Fla.
